I have had Feed Demon for about 5 weeks having had its praises and "ease of use" thrown at me from all sides! Honestly I am not a dumb bunny and considered fairly good with computers...but trying to organise Feed Demon has got me to the point that I almost wish I had not bothered with RSS at all!! I can't seem to get my Favourite Channels back. I also need to be able to access all the Help bits that came with Nick Bradbury on how to use Feed Demon and those seem to have slipped away from me too! I need a "How to use" for Dummies or something, before I give up and rely on receiving most of everything I want in email! There is no Help phone number and no "How to Use" that one can download. Any suggestions/help will be most gratefully received.

Well, a little clarification would help first - what do you mean by the "help bits have slipped away"? What happens when you go to the "Help" menu? When you say you can't seem to get your Favorite Channels back - is that a channel group (now called Feed Group) you created, or are you referring to something else?

Also, what version are you using?

Thanks Critter 42. Yes, they were new channels that I particularly wanted, connected with my work, and for some reason they seem to have reappeared, but I don't know why! The Help I was referring to was a whole pile of Help tips that popped up directly from Nick Bradbury each time I opened up Feed Demon - also his FAQ's. Now, when I click on either of those titles still there under Channels, they open up but are blank. They were a good guide on How to Get Started, and generally make use of the heading in the title bar. I will visit his website with the link you kindly gave me. I just wish there was a Beginners Guide to all this..!

I wonder if you have a filter on that's hiding read messages?
At the top of the newspaper (or browser) panel is a drop down list that allows you to quickly filter the posts that appear. By default, it's set to "All News" which displays every post that's been downloaded regardless of whether it's been read or not.
All of the other choices will reduce the visible posts to reduce clutter and make it easier to focus on only the posts you're interested in.
There is an additional function which hides the posts displayed in the middle, News Items panel, "View | Hide Read News Items".
