When I am connected to my corporate network the RSS feeds work fine (I setup the proxy settings), but NNTP does not.  If I disconnect from the corporate network then NNTP seems to work.  I suppose this could be an issue with the corporate proxy server, but I am wondering if NewsGator uses the proxy setting when trying to reach the news server (its comcasts new server).

Hi Martin,

Using a HTTP proxy server for non-HTTP protocols generally doesn't make sense...so NewsGator does not use your proxy settings for NNTP.

I have two ideas about the problem...first, your corporate firewall might block port 119 for outgoing traffic, in which case you're out of luck.  Second, I'm not sure if Comcast allows access to their NNTP server from outside of their network...if they don't you're out of luck again.

Hope this helps!
