So I have a huge set of snippets that I used to use in ColdFusion, and I seem to remember these should have been compatible with HomeSite (please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

I've found that since these are very little more than text files, if I drop my folders into the TopStyle3\user\ClipLip they'll show up after I reboot.

However, is there any easier way to do this? It looks as if some of my clips are HSE files, and those will probably require some physical name changing (though still easier than trying to recreate this list from scratch).

Thanks for any help!

I wouldn't have expected dropping the files into TopStyle's own ClipLib directory to work. I just assumed the file structure is different.

There isn't a built-in import function in TS for this, so dropping into the ClipLib folder is probably the only quick way to do this.

Thanks.

FYI - it worked quite nicely if you put the folders directly into the ClipLib folder. You have to reboot to see the addition of the folders, but they do show up. I've been cleaning these snippets up today, but simple things that all go before the caret have all worked perfectly.

You cannot nest one folder inside another, but you couldn't in HomeSite so that isn't a loss. The files did need to have a *.dat extension, and can actually be edited in a simple text editor. If you want to separate a before and after caret, you can simply add the following text in between:

/-sep-/

You can nest folders in HomeSite - since v5.5 (that's nearly three years, IIRC).

And has been mentioned over the years, it would be more than handy if the Clip Library allowed nesting of folders.

Well that would explain it - I haven't used it since early 2001
