I tried the Buzz Editor's Desk earlier today, but found it unusable for my sites due to not being able to size it for my columns.

Dennis,
You'll be happy to know that size matters to us as well. That's why we went to some lengths to make our widgets auto-size. All you have to do is drop the code snippet inside of a size defined element, whether it be a div, a span , a table element like td, etc. As long as you've defined the height and width of the container, the widget framework will do everything possible to make it conform to that size. There are sometimes exceptions when an RSS publisher decides to put html inside of their article text with hard coded sizes that exceed yours. In which case your widget should still fit inside the the container you defined, but with scroll bars.
Keep in mind also that the preview pane inside of Editor's Desk is re-sizable by dragging the bottom, side, or lower right corner, AND when you resize the preview pane it shows you the size you've selected in pixels (e.g. 320 x 780) so that you can be sure you know what it's going to look like inside the container size you have on your page.
Hope this helps.
