I just found the Newsgator Toolbar. Wish I'd known about it sooner! I've been using FeedDemon for a couple of years and have wanted this. One thing....

I wish it installed a "Customize Toolbar Icon" so I could add that to my toolbar and open or close the Newsgator Toolbar easily. It's just one more thing taking up too much real estate on my browser. As an example, RoboForm has an icon I can add to the toolbar so the Roboform Toolbar is normally closed but with one click it opens. I'd love that with this. Can I jury-rig it somehow?

Thanks!

Mad Dog

Are you using it in IE or Firefox?

IE7

POSTSCRIPT: I just checked it out in Firefox and it's 1000% better. I can choose which buttons I want to show and have a mini toolbar so I can fit in a couple of buttons without taking up so much space. Am I missing a way to do this in IE?

Unfortunatly no - IE Toolbars are not as flexible (as far as I could tell) than Firefox.

I'll put a feature request in to see what can be done, but hopefully someone else will have a better suggestion.

You could always to disable and enable it as needed.

I do, but it's a pain compared to having a small footprint like it does in Firefox plus I've found that the Toolbar opens by itself sometimes for no known reason, like sometimes if a link opens a new browser window. I mean, IE has about 75% of the browser market, shouldn't it work well for the most used browser? This is the type of thing that stops RSS Feed Readers (like my fave, FeedDemon) from being adopted by the masses. As long as it's not dirt simple to grab a feed, most people aren't going to get into it.
