Not really a feature request, just throwing out the idea. Would anyone see a this as a loss/trade-off in functionality?

Can't say that would work for me, since I always use "Unread Folder View" and always want my watches showing.  Why do you want to hide them?

Because Wathches == Feeds for me.

I only want to see them if there are new items. Same reason that I fought so hard to get an Unread Folder view in the first place.

Ah - I thought you wanted to hide *all* the watches, not just ones w/o unread items.  That still wouldn't work for me since I often look at older items in my watches (and clippings), but at least your request makes more sense to me now

Would anyone else like to see this?

If I was still using unread folder view, sure - but I've grown so used to NNW and the "sort by unread count" view that combines the best of both worlds, I put up with the inconvenience of having all feeds visible in FD

Please note that I am not actually employed by NewsGator, and my opinions should not be taken as their official stance on any matter. I'm just a happy FD user (since pre-1.0 alpha in 2003) helping out where I can.

Not a fan of that one, myself. Unread count is probably the last thing I want to use to tell me what I need to read.

Same here. Feeds with the most unread items tend to be the least interesting - which is why I've not yet got around to reading them. On the other hand, many of the feeds I'm subscribed to only have new posts once or twice a week, sometimes less. Often they are the ones I'll want to read first. On second thoughts, perhaps I should sort in inverse order of unread count?
