Hi there

I have a few different feed demon accounts that I manage.... In a few of them, I create specialised feeds for folks, and then just add feeds for them, so that they get in their reader, just the content they've been asking for.

Unfortunately, when I go to edit the username, it won't let me... I don't suppose anyone has figured out a way of being able to change the login name for an account, once you've put in your account name and password?

It would be really helpful if i could figure out a way of doing that, instead of having to install it 5 times, and have to keep track of which folder I have which login in.

I've tried to edit the details under synchronization options, but haven't gotten anywhere so far..

Cheers

Farhan

There is a way to do this, but it will involve a registry hack and will require you to create a unique cache folder for each profile. I will walk you through the process.

Step One:

1. In FeedDemon; Click on File | Manage Cache | Change
2. You should default to the v1 folder ... Move up one level to the FeedDemon folder
3. Make a new folder and name it with the UserID so you can keep track
4. A wizard will move the cache from here. It may be best to simply delete the old cache.
5. Launch FeedDemon so the changes take effect.

Step Two:

1. Close FeedDemon
2. Go to the Start menu | Run | regedit | OK
3. Navigate to this path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bradbury\FeedDemon
4. Rename FeedDemon to FeedDemon.UserID (UserID is the NGOL account you are using)
5. Launch FeedDemon and run through the setup wizard with credentials for the next account

Step Three: Repeat as necessary

When you are done you should have a set of registry keys for each NGOL account and a unique cache folder for each. The registry keys will keep track of each cache folder for you.

When you are ready to switch to a different profile, just close FeedDemon and open your registry editor. Then remove the .UserID extension from the appropriate FeedDemon.UserID folder we just created. Be sure to have only one FeedDemon folder at any given time. All others should have the .UserID extension when not being used.
