Hi,

i'm using FeedDemon 2.7 with 468 feeds. All works well except two info feeds from the German Parliament ("Deutscher Bundestag"):
"press releases" and the "daily messages from the parliament". Both feeds validate with the w3c and feedvalidator.org validator and are loaded with Firefox live bookmarks, but FeedDemon says that they cannot be downloaded.

I am seeing the same thing Nick - for whatever reason, autodiscovery isn't working for this feed.

kr: Uncheck the box that says "Check for problems with this feed before subscribing to it" underneath the URL box on the first page of the New Subscription wizard. FD will add the feeds and they will then operate normally.

Thank you for your test.

That was one of my thoughts too and i have tried it. Yes, FD adds the feeds, but FD doesn't update the feeds and when you click "View Source" FD shows always the error message: "FeedDemon was unable to download Feed-URL. Please make sure the URL is correct, and that your firewall permits access to this location".

They may be blocking the FeedDemon User-Agent string or something like that. Is this feed in a synched or non-synched folder? If it's synched try moving it to a non-synched folder and vice versa.

I can add these feeds to a synced folder and get the initial dump of articles from the NGO servers, but do not get updates. I can add them to an unsynced folder as well but get nothing. Nick will have to take a look at this one to identify where the problem is.

Hmm...are you saying that NGO itself doesn't show updates either?  If so, then there is a different issue isn't it since it appears to be something affecting both the platform and FD...

Hi,

They may be blocking the FeedDemon User-Agent string or something like that.

I'm using Privoxy for anonymization purposes with Tor and Privoxy changes all User-Agents to a regular UA from Mozilla/Firefox. But with proxy or direct connections (with the FD UA) the problems are the same.

Is this feed in a synched or non-synched folder? If it's synched try moving it to a non-synched folder and vice versa.

You mean the Newsgator folders/synchronization? No, i'm not using it for all of my feeds. And another mysterious thing: If i add the two feeds manually, the feeds are disappearing from the folder after some time. Perhaps it is a feature for faulty feeds?

These feeds do update in NewsGator Online, and the updates are passed to FeedDemon, but these feeds do not work in FeedDemon alone in unsynchronized folders.

FeedDemon chokes on them because it (incorrectly) thinks there are too many encoding errors in them (invalid Unicode characters). This problem will be resolved in the next build.
