Hi,
Could not find an on-target post in forums, sorry if this already answered.
I use FeedDemon on my desktop, WinXP, as my main RSS organizer, very seldom going to NewsGator.
But, I thought I'd synch with NewsGator as a backup, and the Web access, as needed.
Now, when I finally went into all my 100+ saved clippings and created new clippings folders, moving clippings, etc. to better organize ... the next time NewsGator synched, everything was reset back to the folders I had before I began reorganizing BUT ALL THE CLIPS WERE GONE.
What am I not understanding? I have stopped the NewsGator synching.
Is this the protocol, i.e.: NewsGator trumps FeedDemon?
or, is there a way of making sure FeedDemon's data does not change when NewsGator synchs?
I went to forum posts about backups, subscriptions.opml, but when I copied the subscriptions.opml.old file and renamed without the 'old' and pasted over the current subscriptions.opml file, nada, nothing was restored from this 'old' file, even though it is time stamped about 12 hours BEFORE the clippings catastrophe.
Ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks!
John
