| The 407 code means that you have an authenticating proxy. What version of NetNewsWire and what version of Mac OS X are you running?

| Do you have access to a system running 10.5.x on the same network? If it works correctly in 10.5.x, but not on 10.4.11, that would be important data.

I don't know. This is my work computer and it's a large company. As I said, News Fire works OK.

The fact that News Fire works doesn't really help us until we know what is causing the problem... It's kind of like saying my car is broken but my friends car works - it doesn't tell me why your won't run

| Any idea what my 403 error might mean and how to fix it?

403 means "sorry, you are not allowed to access this"
Maybe the proxy is denying access to http://services.newsgator.com? That would explain why NewsFire works, I'm sure NNW would work too if you disabled synchronising to NewsGator.
Please note that I am not actually employed by NewsGator, and my opinions should not be taken as their official stance on any matter. I'm just a happy FD user (since pre-1.0 alpha in 2003) helping out where I can.

| I suppose it could just be a username and/or password error. Have you double-checked that these are correct?
