Hello,
Here's a bit of a weird one.
I have a number of RSS feeds setup, all nice & neatly filed in relevant folders. Everything works fine, the iPhone client is fantastic (these days!) and I've been very impressed with NewsGator.
Today I decided to add a new feed from eBay to monitor specific new items as they're added. I "built" the feed through searching eBay's site, created a folder in NewsGator called "eBay Searches", went to Add Feed and told NewsGator to file it under my newly created folder via the relevant pulldown menu.
The eBay-search-feed is:
http://rss.api.ebay.com/ws/rssapi?FeedName=SearchResults&siteId=3&language=en-GB&output=RSS20&catref=C2&satitle=quad+-lnb*+-sky+-cctv+-yaesu+-binatone+-laser+-disco+-camera+-talkie*+-batter*+-processor+-motorola+-usb*+-intel*+-uniden+-wall+-potent*+-cordless&from=R40&sacat=293
So far so good. n I click NewsGator's yellow "Add Feed" button, the resulting page shows me items from eBay complete with images and there's my new feed inside the "eBay Searches" folder I created earlier.
Trouble is that courtesy of eBay the feed name is huge - it's basically the entire search string. No problem I can soon rename that inside NewsGator' Settings > Organize Folders > [find my feed] > Rename Feed > give it a Custom Feed Name and hit the Save button.
Bang. The feed now no longer exists in my "eBay Searches" folder.
I've tried it a few times (with the same feed it has to be said) and the feed disappears every time after I choose to rename it.
Am I doing something wrong?
Regards,
Seve

No - it's a bug that's been reported a few times.
Whenever you rename a feed via the NGO interface, instead of staying in the folder like a good feed, it winds up in the root "My Feeds" folder and you need to drop-n-drag it back to the original folder

Hi!
That seems to be a little different to what I see.
The renamed feed genuinely isn't visible anywhere after I rename it, either in my freshly created folder or - as far as I can see - at the root level of My Feeds or anywhere else.
I've tried the adding & renaming process with FIreFox 3 and Safari 3 (both Windows XP) and from Safari 3 Mac at home.
Cheers,
Steve

In the name of testing and for the same of simplicity I've just tried adding my feed at the root level (not in any sub folder) and then renaming it. Same thing - the feed is gone after the rename, no sign of it anywhere.
Perhaps just changing the "Rename" feature to "Delete Feed" ? ;-)

Morning,
The issue of renaming a feed is different than the issue described by critter, so I have submitted a defect to have our development team investigate this issue.
Any other examples besides the eBay feed would helpful.

Thanks Frank.
If it helps; the un-renamed eBay feed is persistent, it doesn't disappear after logging out of Newsgator.com and sync's fine with the iPhone client.
Rename it though and it's gone.
Cheers,
Steve

I'm experiencing the same problem. Feeds stay put if I leave them alone, but once I rename them they go bye-bye. If someone could please fix this that would be great

FrankB, do you know if anyone has looked into this? It's been almost 6 weeks and the issue still doesn't appear to have been resolved...I just tried renaming a feed again this morning and it disappeared just like before.

I know this problem is a nuisance, but do to other obligations we do not have the resources to resolve this issue at this time.
However, I will keep on it and run it by management to make sure they're aware of the issue so it can be prioritized appropriately and I will keep you all informed.
Thanks,
Frank B.
