I subscribe to http://feeds.feedburner.com/VentureCapital, a feedburner aggregate feed
For the last 3 days, I've marked all posts as read. Yet, the posts keep showing up as unread. I marked all posts read at 5pm today. At 9:30 today, 1016 posts are unread, the first dating from January 2006. Most of these posts I have already read.

well, for starters, it's too big for any of the feed validators to validate - it appears that every entry for over two and a half years is in this feed - it's 4MB file!
If they're doing something to change the GUIDs every time the feed is published (if there are even any GUIDs - not sure about that), this is going to happen. Drop a note to the feed publisher and find out if they made any changes to the feed recently that may have caused the entire thing to be republished.
It would also behoove them to trim the file back a bit and maybe archive some of those entries - that is quite a large feed file.
