My "unofficial" stance is that I don't talk about features until they're actually coded. Unicode support has already been added, so I feel safe talking about it :)

RE: I would pay...
Nick Bradbury (5/28/2008)
I'm happy to say that Unicode support will be in TopStyle 4.0 :)
OK, Nick, did you just say that to prove me wrong? :)

RE: I would pay...
Alan Palmer (5/28/2008)
Last I heard was that TS4 was in pre-alpha testing. I know that UTF-8 support is one of the most frequently-requested features and that TS4 would be the earliest version that could include it. It's not a trivial addition and would require considerable rewriting of code. Although NG will not yet divulge any details of planned new features (understandably), most of us are hoping that UTF-8 support will be included.
For all the hassles I'm going through right now with applications I'm converting over to Unicode I would imagine it's not trivial. :P
That said, I'm not so keen about paying double simply for that one feature. I don't actually need it. ;)
Totally understandable Alan, but I would! Triple if I could have right now! -laughs- Been using TopStyle/CSE Validator combo for many years, dare I say eight (I think) and I'm so comfortable with them now I could never change to another. Hmm, wonder if CSE will be compatible, still, for TS4? Nick? -chuckles-
Nick Bradbury (5/28/2008)
I'm happy to say that Unicode support will be in TopStyle 4.0 :)
I, too, am happy you said that! I was in chrset-conversion *** that day. I partly blame PHP (in general) for not supporting Unicode. Please make it so! And, yes, I know this has been asked a bizillion times now. I just can not find an editor I like as much as TopStyle and converting thousands of files a year to UTF-8 as I publish pages on the net is getting tedious and tiresome. For the love of.......... please make it happen!
