Look at the article from Greg Reinacker linked in the pinned thread - most likely because the website wasn't responding all the feeds produced by the site were "jailed". Until a feed is refreshed, it stays jailed - there's no reason to keep hammering a site if it's down and it's a waste of resources to keep checking a downed site. There may also be some technical reason why NG just couldn't give all the feeds with revision3.com in their URL a shove, but that's something the NG guys themselves would have to answer.

Thanks for the info. Why would the feed still not be updating on the Newsgator side though?

Nope, the issue was that Revision3 was hacked over the Memorial Day weekend - see this thread for details and a link to the saga.

Refresh is the two arrows chasing themselves at the very end of the "Last Updated" Column

Yes. The feed has not been updating via Newsgator for 2-3 weeks now. It does show an error "Error from the source of the feed", but I don't know where to "refresh" the feed from as mentioned in the thread (or even if that would help). The feed has worked for a year or so without issues. Maybe Newsgator's update interval is too high and they're being blacklisted, I don't know.

Have you followed the steps in the "Have you noticed a feed has not been updating as you expect" thread that's pinned at the top of the forum?

This feed has not been updating for 2 weeks. I verified that it is up-to-date outside of Newsgator/Feeddemon. Please fix.

It was showing an internal error. I cleared the error and refreshed manually. It looks to be up to date now.

http://ditrader.di.se/News/rss.aspx - a popular Swedish newspaper - har not been updated since May 13. The feed works fine in Internet Explorer and Outlook.

Anything I can do myself to fix the problem?

What makes a certain feed 'higher-priority' I wonder?

Thank you for your patience. You should now be seeing updates for higher-priority feeds. The servers will cycle through all of the feeds over the next few hours and everything should be back to normal soon.

Yup, thanks for the update. Glad the issue has been noticed and work is being done on it. I think I could have jinxed it. I started a new, extremely dull job today, so I really needed my feeds. :/

Where is this status blog I've heard mentioned? I can't find a link to it anywhere.

it's a little communication which helps a lot to be appreciated by clients.

We apologize for this inconvenience. Our Platform team is aware of the issue and is diagnosing the problem now. We hope to have a resolution quickly.

In the meantime you can get updates, as mentioned in this thread, by unsyncing your feeds. This forces the reader to bypass the NewsGator Online servers and retrieve its updates directly from the source(s).

FWIW, I am having the same issue for 100% of my feeds on NGO (none of them have gotten any updates since about 10pm-ish Pacific time), and I have the same lack of updates in my NetNewsWire application on my home computer.

Hopefully, this gets rectified soon.

Indeed, that doesn't sound like a workaround and doesn't apply to NewsGator Online. This is a thread about the NewsGator Online service. (I use NNW at home ... no idea if that's working/syncing. I assume it's broken too.)

Currently NewsGator Online is not refreshing any feeds at all and is entirely non-functional. The interface, including settings etc seems to be working ok. Somebody/something has chopped off the news supply somewhere. Rather important too for "The RSS company"! Google Reader is working, so it's definitely a NewsGator issue.

While this will pull in new content from the sites you subscribe to, it does not alleviate the fact that none of this state information is being synched with Newsgator. Clippings, read/unread states, none of this is being synched at the moment and disabling synching doesn't fix this issue (though yes, it will cause your reader to load feeds).

This worked for me also - disable sync and refresh. Problem appears to be with NGO...

I'm also not seeing any updates in my ~200 feeds. I've checked in both Newsgator online and NetNewsWire and there's been no updates. I've cycled my sync controls from on to off and back to on again, no dice—I still see no updates.

Same here. Feeds have definitely not been updating for at least the past hour or so.

NewsGator has a support blog for keeping us apprised of outages like this, but they don’t use it… Their dishonesty (a lie of omission, admittedly) is quite astonishing. Harsh? Perhaps, but this is by no means the first time NewsGator has failed to respond publicly to a massive outage like this.

I'm having this same problem; the feed itself shows good (and updated), and both the URLs are correct, but the website referring to the feed still shows old items. Fixes to this?

I was debating as to where this post should live, and since I thought it seemed to be more of a NG issue, I posted it here. It justs seems as though the schedule for NGO appears to be more "infrequent" than it has been.

Maybe it is just me, though. I will give it some time, as I recall there being a similar issue way back in the beginning of the FD/NGO integration/synch.

If a feed is synched, it doesn't matter what you have FeedDemon set for - that setting is only used on unsynched feeds. Otherwise, NGO updates a feed based on its own schedule (and I don't believe there's any particular way to tell what that schedule is for a given feed) and subsequently FD won't show the feed until NGO has it.

Edit: Whoops - didn't see this was the NGO forum. JJ, FD issues need to be posted in the FeedDemon forum (or the FeedDemon Beta forum if you're using the beta version) - this thread is in regards to not seeing new items in Newsgator Online.

I am not having the problem of feeds not updating, but I am seeing the problem of feeds updating later than they should. For example, Broadband Reports feed (http://www.dslreports.com/rss20.xml) shows an update around 7:03 AM (EST), specifically adding an item for there Morning Broadband bytes. The same article did not display in FeedDemon until 9:07 AM (EST).

Is there a load issue to be aware of, considering that I have FeedDemon set to update every 30 minutes?

If additional information is needed, please let me know.

I have to say, I just subscribed to NewsGator and I'm quite disappointed. After importing my OPML file and using NewsGator to 'sync' my news, I'm find it hard to believe that I'm only getting 40+ new articles a day. Prior to subscribing to the service I was getting at least 500+ news items a day. Just to make sure I wasn't going crazy, I imported the OPML file into feeddemon and made sure the folders aren't synchronized and low and behold 10x more articles.

Is this RSS lag a known problem, or is someone actively working on resolving the issue? I mean slashdot via newsgator is behind almost 12+ hours!

One this is for sure, if this keeps up I'll just have to go back to centralizing my OPML file and just importing it when needed to keep 'synchronized'.

I am also experiencing this issue. I have not received any posts from any feeds that were made after around 3 AM this morning.
A couple hours ago, I received all posts up to 12 PM from #14778 and #8024.
