Hi to all!

I was a Newsgator user for a long while, and I liked the Go! especially. I finally moved to Google Reader because I find the online version more friendly.

When I first read that FeedDemon Beta was capable of syncing with GReader, I jumped, because I was hoping the same might happen to Go! That way, I would have the best of the 2 worlds: mobile, offline reading on Go! and GReader web client.

However, I got a little dissapointed because all the attention in this matter goes to the Iphone and I couldn't help noticing that this forum had little comments lately.

Is the development for Go! on hold? If not, is there any chance we will see a GReader-compatible version?

I was not able to install the NewsGator Go! for Mobiles using the instructions on http://www.newsgator.com/Individuals/NewsGatorGo/DownloadInstructions.aspx

I have an AT&T Q9h with Windows Mobile 6.1. I just had to install an OS patch which wiped out the phone's memory, so I was starting the process from scratch.

Using the browser on the phone, I went to m.newsgator.com/d as instructed. The page was not the same as what was shown in the instruction screenshot where it gives an option to download and install NewsGator Go!.

Instead it was a login screen. When I entered my user name and password the first time, it got a critical error message (similar to another recent poster in this forum). I re-entered my credentials and the second time it logged into a web-type interface for viewing my RSS feeds. I tried multiple times with the same result. It never gave me the option to download the local reader.

I went to the m.newsgator.com website from my desktop computer browser and encountered the exact same thing. Maybe the website thought my phone was a desktop computer? There is a setting in the phone's browser to identify the device as a Handheld device or Desktop computer. I tried both options with the same result.

In searching the forums, I found that the latest .CAB file could be downloaded so I did that and installed the CAB file, so I am up and running now. I just had to figure it out on my own and thought I would post this message to point out the issue.

Can't find any other threads which seem to relate.

The main reason I have downloaded this is to read news reports in Thai. I have fonts on my device (MDA Vario III) which can display Thai characters, but in the feed reader I just get boxes.

Is there any way to change the display font? Or is it a different problem?

Installing - certificate issue

Some information that may be useful for the developers.

I have successfully downloaded NGMobilePPCSetup.CAB, but the first time I tried to run it, it was rejected because of a certificate issue. I was not given the issue to install it anyway. I tried again, and this time, it said:

"The program is from an unknown publisher. You should install it only if you trust its publisher. Do you want to continue?"

I was able to then continue to install it! The first time I got the error I nearly just gave up, so I assume others may do.

Old posts return after every sync

I have numerous feeds that no matter how many times I 'Mark All' as read and sync they continue to come back. This problem is only on my mobile client and not experienced in the Newsgator Online version. Also, it's not with every feed either - only certain ones and I've noticed some have corrected, but only to find others start doing the same.

Palm Treo Pro w/ WM 6.1 Pro and "NewsGator Go!" with a "FeedDemon" and "NewsGator Online" account running a laptop and my Treo. My online accts show a hundred or more unread articles. When I start NewsGator on my phone it loads the program, goes down my list of feeds one by one and changes the icons to the RSS icon then, when it's done, the tree goes away and gives me the message "there are currently no unread posts in your feed list". Now, as it's running down the tree and changing the icons to the RSS icon, if I click on one of the RSS icons before the program is done running down the list (and before I get the message), it will bring up the article. I've seen this problem on only a couple of other posts here but never a workaround or solution. Any ideas? I've tried deleting the mobile location, following previous instructions and re-syncing. I've also tried un-installing an re-installing. The only thing I haven't done is create an entirely new acct which would be counter-intuitive to having the ability to read the feeds on laptop and phone.

Issues with Pheedo

On NewsGator Go on Windows Mobile, on multiple feeds including New York Times and Informationweek, when I go to read arrticles, these sites to me to Pheedo site, I cannot find anywhere of clicking to article.

The Pheedo site looks like a service for advertising, when I tap the hyperlink to the article, how to I get to the article, this does not happen with every feed, mainly 2 listed above.

Assistance would be appreciated.

Unreliable e-mail

I'm finding, on my Motorola Q9, that when I e-mail posts, only 30 percent or so of them arrive at their destination. I get no error message -- it looks the same whether the email is going out successfully or not. Anyone else have this experience? Any suggestions? (Attention moderators: the technical problem I had with posting to this forum now seems to be resolved.)

NewsGator unable to start connection?

I have run into this following issue for quite some time now, and it REALLY bothers me:

Whenever I launch NewsGator without using some app that starts a data connection before, NewsGator tells me that I do not appear to be connected. Technically speaking, I am indeed not in those instances, but just as the Messaging application will initiate a connection once I ask it to send and receive my e-mail messages, I would like to see NewsGator simply making the necessary request as well.

The only workaround I have found so far is to launch an applicaton that will need to establish a data connection for NewsGator to be able to work with that existing connection afterwards.

Any hope this will be fixed anytime soon?

NTG Very difficult to use on High-Res devices

Unfortunately, NTG is very difficult to use on HiRes screens (like the Touch HD - 800x480).

* Internal icons are tiny (they don't upscale)
* Settings page is almost impossible to use (the font-size upscales, but the line-height doesn't!)
* The vertical scrollbar is impossible to use (the width of the scrollbar doesn't upscale, so is about 3mm wide)

I can post screenshots if necessary.

And, as someone mentioned on another thread, users of modern devices are getting used to finger-friendliness throughout applications.

Opening articles on my Omnia

I recently installed Newsgator Go Mobile (version 2.0.0.25419) on my Omnia (SGH-i900; firmware i900DXHK3/DZHK3). My subscribed feeds are read well; I am able to see a list of recent articles in every feed. But then, when I try to open one of the articles to read it, I cannot do it... the envelope remains closed and I do not see any change on the screen.
Maybe I am missing some point here... but I have no clue how to progress with this problems. Can somebody help me?

Pictures not displaying

Just installed NewsGator Go on my WM6.1 phone (AT&T Tilt). When I view my feeds it doesn't download the pictures. It just displays a box with a red X where the picture should be. I can't find any settings to tell it to download the pictures. When I "hold-click" the picture and select "show picture" it still doesn't show anything but the red X. Anyone know how to fix this?

that would be nice, it doesn't work on the htc touch pro very well, when i'm viewing a feed, i can't scroll with the screen at all like other apps, the scroll bar is so small it's barely doable with the stylus. also, the options menu is really screwed up, very bunched

Client Shows No New Posts

For some reason on my Newsgator Go! client on my Windows Mobile 6.1 AT&T (HTC) Tilt/Kaiser, I am not getting any updated posts. The client is able to sync, and goes through the motions of contacting the different feeds but doesn't actually show any new posts. It just shows "There are currently no unread posts in your feed list." If I fire up my FeedDemon client it shows plenty of new posts. I have tried uninstalling the old client and making sure the Newsgator Go! folder is gone, then installing the latest Beta with no luck. Any ideas?

Still blank contents while offline

I have read a thread about blank content while offline using NewsGator Go! I am using the latest version (downloaded just now from the site) and I'm facing the same situation.

While offline, I see nothing but a white screen when I try to load a single feed article.

I am using a HTC P4351. When I've visited the download page, only the version for Windows Pocket PC was avaliable.

no refresh of feeds

i am using newgator to hear the morning news, and the feed seems to be posted or refreshed by my mobile client (htc touch pro, windows mobile 6.1) only after some time, so i am not able to listen to the feed. but: i can see the refreshed feed with my normal browser on my laptop. so i think, the information is reproduced to the mobile client only after some time. how can i get updated feed to my mobile client?

Am i missing something, or are there any issues with compatibility with my device

AT&T Fuze/HTC Touch Pro Screen Size Issue

Hi all,

This version has been recently released as a test version primarily to fix the issue of NewsGator Go! showing a blank screen instead of the feed item content if a WM6 device doesn't have a currently active data session. (See [url=http://forum.newsgator.com/Topic39989-56-1.aspx]http://forum.newsgator.com/Topic39989-56-1.aspx[/url] for detail)

This particular issue has been fixed in my opinion so I wanted to recommend all WM6 users upgrade to this new version and give feedback for if this has fixed this particular problem if they had experienced it before.

So please try out this new version if you were having the blank screen issue (or the flicker/redisplay issue which also seems to have been fixed! :-) but note that other bugs from v2.0.0.25419 have not currently been tackled, so I wanted to raise these here to see if others also agreed with them:

[b]Issue with Feed enclosures downloads to Storage Cards[/b]
Applies to: WM6 only?
If Podcasts, etc are set to download to memory card on a WM6 handset there appears to be an error in the way that the temporary file is created in that an initial 99.7Kb file is created with the correct name and location (inside /tmp/ sub directory of choosen location) however the temp file never increases in size past this 99.7Kb limitation, and the rest of the file being downloaded occupies space while being downloaded (you can see total storage dropping) but does not appear visibly anywhere on the storage card.
If the download is not interrupted then normally NewsGator will then successfully assemble the finished file and transfer it into the choosen directory location.
However if there is any interruption to the download all 'extra' downloaded data becomes lost clusters of data taking up room on the file system. This can be checked by performing a scan disk on the storage card either via removing the card and using Windows or by using a WM app like Flash Format from CNetX.
This problem also means that it is not possible to resume partial downloads to storage card under WM6 as the software can't find the previously downloaded data so starts again from scratch, which then often confuses the software so it thinks it has finished, but can't assemble the finished file correctly so while the Item will change to a Tick and the Menu will change to 'Play Media' there is no finished file on the system and the software has just created even more lost clusters.

[i]Further notes re this bug:[/i]
- Under WM6 download temp files seem to behave correctly growing in size during download as expected when done to device internal memory. Unfortuenately on my device I've only got 24Mb of space and most podcasts are 40Mb plus (or at least the ones I listen to!)

- The changing of the item icon to a green tick on successful download doesn't always happen automatically at download completion (although this may be related to above problem). If you de-focus and then re-highlight the item by moving up or down on the item list the Tick will however appear on re-highlighting that item

- When doing multiple tests of downloading to storage card the directory setting for Feeds location within Settings > Feeds did not always remember the latest value after waiting slightly at feed list, fully exiting via menu option and then re-starting the application

- Related to this was also the fact that when pointing to an existing (previously created) directory on the memory card NewsGator seemed to be unable to create the sub TMP directory and therefore successfully download any podcasts. In the end I made this latest Newsgator create it's own sub folder as part of setting the location within the app, and this then worked okay (as long as download was not interupted, i.e. main issue)

- Following extensive testing of multiple downloads the behaviour of my phone on a following day changed in that now the initial 99.7Kb files are not reliably being created in the /tmp/ directory and while Go! seems to download the files normally happily showing progess bar etc within app, the final file therefore never gets created, all parts of the file are written as lost clusters taking up room on the storage card

- Newsgator Go! client currently sets a download's status once it believes that an item has been successfully completed, but does not currently cross-check against file names present within specified Feed directory, so if a download has failed, or you had to delete a download temporarily to clear space, etc then the software will not allow you to re-download the file as the menu option has changed to 'Play media'. Could a feature request be that the software does a check for the file actually being present, and use this to drive the status instead? Obviously there may be performance reasons this can't be done, but would be a better method?

[b](24th Oct Update) - 'Top Posts' doesn't work correctly with Ascending Date order set[/b]
Applies to: WM 5 and 6?
If you go into 'Settings' > 'User Interface' and de-select 'Sort posts by descending date' and then save that preference so posts are now shown in Ascending/Oldest posts first, then all works correctly when browsing your own feed items, but if you at top Folder overview page you select 'Menu' > 'Top Posts' option to get a selection of NewsGator choosen top stories, then clicking on top item in the list will actually open the bottom item in the list. Opening the 2nd item will open 2nd from bottom item and so on.
So it looks like while visibly the posts list view has been re-ordered the click through's to the actual item text haven't been updated properly to account for changed preference setting, and still assume default 'Descending' order is in effect!
Have to be honest the Top Posts is something I haven't really made use of, although now I've found it most of the articles look interesting. Not sure how many other may have even found the option, and maybe I'm the only one that doesn't like to jump to the end of the book? ;)

Relatively minor visual issue. Post titles with attachment downloads appear in black, but not bold like other 'normal' posts when unread. Titles do display correctly with grey text when read. Does make it harder at a glance to see read/unread status for these types of feeds

Client does not listen to disabling of 'Sync when Cradled' option within Setting > Synchronization menus which is a problem for me as this often causes the ActiveSync connection with my work laptop to drop out due to corparate software and firewalls that get very twitchy about my device trying to access the internet via the laptop's connection

Doesn't seem to be as much of a problem with Skweezer as chosen optimiser, but with Google selected in Settings > Web Browser drop down (I also enable images) then '#' or '?' characters will cause confuse GWT and result in correct page not being displayed, which they would be if URLs passed to Google were encoded first. Examples sites this happens on are Xbox-Scene.com, Gamasutra.com, ComputerandVideoGames.com

If a bad data connection is used or experienced any time during Sync then NewsGator Go! will correctly retry a particular feed for a period, and then go onto the next feed in the list. To show that there was a failure to sync the feed is flagged with a Yellow exclamation mark on top of the normal RSS icon within Feed tree view.
Wish list request is however is it possible to preserve the previous cached list content, as currently if this problem occurs the software either blanks or blocks access to any of the items within those affected feeds so from 1 hiccup in the data connection you have lost access to many articles that you would still have wanted to read until you got back to somewhere with a stable data connection?

This issue crops up when either NewsGator is shutdown while in the background by WM to recover memory for other programs (annoying when it happens because IE needs more memory to view a page linked from a feed article!). Obviously there may be a performance issue with doing this? Thankfully 'Set this read and older' option helps greatly as long as you remember which item you were previously on, hence only minor annoyance.

Currently if you delete an item within My Media view the deletion is not shown to have happened within NewsGator until you exit to folder view and then re-enter My Media view. Could list auto refresh as last step of delete action to give better feedback to user who may otherwise think there has been an error try to delete a file multiple times as it still appears to be present.

I synchronise whilst connected.
I then disconnect.
When I click on 'My Feeds' I get a list of feeds.
When I click on a feed I get a list of headlines.
When I double click on a headline I get a blank screen.

... why?

I am on WM6.
I don't know how to find which version of Go! I am using, but I downloaded it today.
I am disconnected .
It works fine when I am connected to the internet thru ActiveSync on the desktop... I see content when I click on a headline
I am assuming that Go! downloads the content and caches it locally and that I should be able to read it when I am not connected to the internet.

Here is a comprehensive list of v2.1 NewsGator settings menus with both their initial defaults and my personal suggestions if using this client the way I like to use mine.

Hopefully this thread might help some new (and not so new) users with settings that others have found work best for them, so please share and comment on your preferred settings in this thread.

[b]Note:[/b] All below settings are from the WM Professional Touch Screen version of the program so there may well be some differences with the SmartPhone version. If I get any info wrong (as I'm a heavy user, but not an expert or developer) then reply with your info and I'll edit this post to try and maintain it as accurate as possible.

The Settings menu is accessed while viewing main program feeds tree view by choosing 'Menu' (Right Soft Key) > 'Settings'

[b]-= Credentials =-[/b]

Location where you can change the Username and Password you use to sync against NewsGator Online and whether you want the password saved of not.

[b]-= Synchronization =-[/b]

[b][i]- Automatically Synchronize - Default: 'Unchecked' - Suggested: 'Unchecked'[/i][/b]
Set NewsGator Go! to auto update on choice of set intervals

Until Go! either triggers WM Notifications on new items arrival or has a WM Today plug-in I don't believe there's use to this option as you'll never see any recieved updates until you switch back to NewsGator manually.
It will also likely interrupt any extended read sessions when you're actually using the program, cause larger data usage, and more importantly significant battery drain from the repeated data calls if set to 15min or 1hr settings.[/i]

[b][i]- Sync on Start - Default: 'Checked' - Advanced only: 'Unchecked'[/i][/b]
Set NewsGator to auto update all feeds on initial program load

My personal preference (as part of reading older news first) and getting faster access to the program is to disable this option and manually sync when I want to, however for those who like things a bit more automated leave at default 'Checked' option to always have the latest posts when you start NewsGator[/i]

Sets NewsGator to periodically sync via host internet connection when connected to a computer with a valid ActiveSync connection.

As device is being powered off computer there doesn't seem and downside to this option unless you have a specialist environment where either the host computer doesn't have a unlimited data connection to the internet or a corporate firewalled environment where this option could make the ActiveSync connection drop out.[/i]

[b][i]- Suppress sync prompt - Default: 'Checked' - Advanced only: 'Unchecked'[/i][/b]
Sets whether NewsGator displays Yes/No pop-up asking for permission to sync before using data connection

If you're on a limited data plan, haven't got any auto sync's enabled, or are just a control freak about when your phone is doing data then 'Uncheck' this option to always be asked first. Otherwise leave checked for a less pestered life ;-)[/i]

[b]-= User Interface =-[/b]

[b][i]- Maximum of 50 posts per feed - Default: 'Checked' - Advanced only: 'Unchecked'[/i][/b]
Reduces number of posts from online max of 200 to 50 latest
[i]Comment:
Speeds up sync time and reduces amount of post data downloaded and stored on your device at one time. It will also speed up display of particular feed item lists (if they would have had more that 50 unread), and likely also reduces program memory usage slighty?
Once you've read 50 you can always re-sync to get the next batch of 50. Prefered option likely depends on number and volume of RSS feeds you watch.
How much difference this limit will make to you is entirely based on the number of feeds, the number of items they keep in their RSS list, how much text is in the items for each of your feeds, and how up to date you are with reading.
For me at the time of writting with 40 configured RSS feeds the 50 post limit gave me 803 unread items taking 1.8Mb of space and without the limit 870 unread items taking 2.0Mb of space, but if I was further behind on my reading this could have been dramatically different in terms of the amount of storage space taken on my device (See further on why I do not recommend putting feeds to storage card)[/i]

[b][i]- Sort posts by descending date - Default: 'Checked' - Suggested: 'Unchecked'[/i][/b]
Sets the sort order of items within each feed

By default Newsgator will show you latest posts per feed first, in reverse chronological order. If you prefer to read news in the order it actually happens then Uncheck this box to not skip to the end of the book ;-) This option is definitely personal choice depending on whether you want to read everything in order, or just dip in and so want to see that latest and greatest first and only catchup if you have time.[/i]

[b][i]- Auto update feed when viewed - Default: 'Checked' - Suggested: 'Unchecked'[/i][/b]
On selecting a feed from NewsGator tree view the software will sync that individual feed before letting you read it

Likely paired with whether you always want descending date news and whether you want auto or manual sync control. For those who want their feed news in chronological order (by unchecking 'Sort posts...' above) then also Unchecking this option will get you much fast access to each feeds article list and make you less likely to miss older stories.[/i]

[b][i]- Show day seperator in feed view - Default: 'Unchecked' - Suggested: 'Checked'[/i][/b]
Whether to show a day seperator label when viewing individual feed item list

Very useful for working out at a glance how old a news item is whether you're reading in ascending or descending order.[/i]

Whether to show a day seperator label when viewing 'Newspaper' multi feed view (On touchscreen click and hold on any folder (not feed) item in overall feeds tree view and this will aggregate all feeds within that folder. Works on top 'My Feeds item as well as all sub folders you may have created!)

Label tag is obviously out of date in settings screen, and I actually only first used the Newspaper view when looking for what this option might relate to! Would probably be more discoverable if you could click on folders and get this view, at the moment it's only available via right click menu many people may never realise is there![/i]

[b][i]- Auto scroll article titles - Default: 'Checked' - Suggested: 'Checked'[/i][/b]
If selected then articles will long titles will start to scroll after a brief pause when hightlighted so you can see all text without opening item

[b]-= Locations =-[/b]

By default will be set to new mobile location matching Device ID on very first install. This allows you to use NewsGator Online to select which feeds you do and don't want to come down to your mobile client. By Default all feeds are added and any new feeds will also appear automatically when sync'd. Note since v2 you can Add new feeds on your device, or remove a feed from just the device or the entire NewsGator service.

[b]-= Web Browser =-[/b]

[b][i]- Format web pages for mobile - Default: 'Unchecked' - Suggested: 'Checked'[/i][/b]
If selected Newsgator will open any Full Posts via an optimisation service to reformat original web page for smaller screensize and also less page size (helps speed even if you're on unlimited data!).

Highly recommend this option for anyone using built-in Pocket IE as their browser as site's will look and work better. If you've got Skyfire or Opera then it may not be as useful to you except for speed of page display.[/i]

Only applicable if using optimisation service.

Personal preference for cleaner results is Google as they compress navigation elements to reduce scrolling to main page content, while allowing future re-expansion if desired. They also remove more banner ads than Skweezer. Skweezer was original offered service, they do offer a translate link at the bottom of their re-formated pages that might be useful. Both services add extra footer that allows viewing original version of the page if you didn't like their optimised version.[/i]

[b][i]-- Show Images (Related to mobile optimisation) - Default: 'Unchecked' - Suggested: 'Checked'[/i][/b]
Whether choosen optimiser should show any images in converted page

Select the location for any feed enclosures (like podcasts) to be downloaded to. Would recommend that this be set to a location on an external storage card if possible, although note under WM6 this may make enclosure download less reliable (see seperately raised bug list http://forum.newsgator.com/Topic43657-56-1.aspx)

When in this Media screen there is a sub 'Options' menu available which allows setting of 'Fetch media thumbnail images' which is unchecked by default

[b]-= Feeds =-[/b]

Select the location for actual cached feed item. Would recommend for at least WM6 users that this be left at default on the device in the NewsGator program directory due to the same WM6 storage card issues mentioned for Media. WM5 users with limited device storage space may want to move this to a location on a storage card.

Within Feeds there is a sub 'Options' menu available which allow setting of 'Mark read after navigating through' which is checked by default

Can be left alone unless you need to configure a proxy server for connection to NewsGator Online

Poll of common outstanding feature requests

I've tried to collect together what I believe are still outstanding feature requests for NewsGator Go! as of Test Release v2.1.2.1 from both Keith's collected list and recent forum postings.

I have also allowed multiple choices in the above poll, but please limit yourself to a max of 3 preferred options to try and help give some steer for NewsGator Go! developers when they look at these results.

If a feature you desperately want isn't on the list then post away as Keith suggested!

(Unfortunately it's not possible to add/remove items once a Poll is created, otherwise I'd have removed that extra blank option that snuck in at the bottom of the list)

Feature Request- # of unread shows up on Today Screen on WM

I think it would be really cool if Newsgator Go had the ability to show me how many total unread news articles I have in my feeds right on the Today screen (Windows Mobile 'desktop'). I think it just makes sense to be there right under my unread mail and above my calendar stuff for today.

I tried to see if this idea had been made already and I couldn't find it.

Nick - this is what I tweeted you about yesterday:

I installed 2.1.2 yesterday; however I am not able to open full posts.
All posts I try to open have one of two errors: "link not properly formatted" or "can't find 'http%3a%2f%2fthis.url.com'..." (of course, substitute this.url.com with any post link URL). it appears that just the :// are getting encoded and not any other symbols

I do not have "format web pages for moble" checked and the issue occurs whether or not I have "Open Links w/Default Browser" checked.

To repro the issue I open NG GO!, highlight a folder, open it, highlight a feed, open it, select my post. I then either highlight and click the post title or hit "menu" softkey and select "Open full post" at which point I get one or the other of the above errors

I am using a Moto Q 9m w/Windows 6 Standard. Skyfire 0.8.0.6883 is my default browser, but the issue occurs if IE is my default also.

Client does not listen to disabling of 'Sync when Cradled' option within Setting > Synchronization menus which is a problem for me as this often causes the ActiveSync connection with my work laptop to drop out due to corparate software and firewalls that get very twitchy about my device trying to access the internet via the laptop's connection[/quote]

Doesn't seem to be as much of a problem with Skweezer as chosen optimiser, but with Google selected in Settings > Web Browser drop down (I also enable images) then '#' or '?' characters will cause confuse GWT and result in correct page not being displayed, which they would be if URLs passed to Google were encoded first. I have Asus MyPal A620BT with Windows Mobile 2003. I tried to install NewGator Mobile 1.0.0 but during syncronnizing clippings I get error "Syncronization failed, pleace try again". I tested this program on Pocket PC emulator and get same error. I cannot install Last version of Newsgator Go! because they requred WM 5.0.

I really need your programm can you help me? May be do you have some build for WM2003 without this error?

JPGs causing podcast symbol

I am a brand new user of NewsGator Go!, so maybe this is known to everyone.

But I have subscribed to some Yahoo! news feeds in which most but not all items have pictures. I verified that they are JPG files.

The messages with pictures have the little icon that I assume means podcast -- a little musical note symbol. And they aren't bolded when unread. And in the list of feeds these feeds have a little green NewsGator icon instead of the standard RSS logo for feeds that have no enclosed pictures.

I've looked in settings for anything relevant but haven't found anything.

Is there some way I can tell NewsGator Go! not to do this for JPGs? I know in NewsGator Inbox one can specify file extensions that are treated as podcasts, but I don't see anything like that in the web NewsGator or in NewsGator Go!

I work on a variety of NewsGator applications so I won't be full time working on Go! but I plan to give it more attention then its been getting. My experience with Windows Mobile is a little limited so its going to take me a little bit to get up to speed.

Hello,

I have been trying to use Newsgator Go! In my Samsung Omnia i900 but it is not working, I face the "Please check your newsgator credentials" issue that has already being raised in this forum. The beta version is not doing better…

For information, my device is using Windows Mobile 6.1. I have also tried installing Microsoft .NET Compact 3.5 and it makes no difference. I have installed the software several times, even after hard resets, so I’m quite sure of having tested different combinations of configurations (.NET 3.5 installation before and after Newsgator Go!, and so on).

Another important detail is that the only output ports I can use with my mobile are 80, 8080 and 443. Unfortunately, my carrier blocks all the rest (SFR in France). Can this be the reason?

Any ideas?

But I can't find a spot online via newsgator.com to do so -- I have a license key and all that. But just need to know what to do to reactivate the mobile softward

why i see less feeds on mobile than on windows?

This program looks really great, but I was disspointed that it somehow won't download the feeds for my favorite rss link. I was hoping to get some help here. I currently have 2 feeds in Newsgator Go on a Verizon HTC touch WM6. One works great on my mobile and the other does not. Oddly enough, logged into Newsgator Online, both feeds show up and work flawlessly. The problem is when I go to sync on my mobile feeds from this slickdeals feed does not show any new messages. I have tried the "Reset Sync" option but it didnt seem to help unfortunately. Anything I can do to troubleshoot this issue?

Suggestion for Windows Mobile 6.1 Devices

I use Newsgator on 4 devices, 2 Windows Mobile and 2 Windows based systems.

I would love to see the following feature added to make use on Windows Mobile more effective.

When you open and sync Windows Mobile devices (I hope I can use the correct terminology), the posts are condensed and you need to tap on feed to expand, with devices like the Touch Diamond, that means getting the stylus out to tap.

It would be a great feature to offer a option to have feeds condensed or expanded, both on the main screen and on clippings.

I also like to know when you can clippings do not show on NewsGator Go, only on Feeddemon/Newsgator web or Inbox.

On another note on clippings, why will clipping not sync if you delete in NewsGator Inbox, it really forces someone to delete on web page.
