Thanks in advance!!!

RE: Content on w-vga device?

Scratch that. I figured out how add the resource as per the above post. It means that the text renders properly now and there's no more blank lines and things! Fantastic!

Having said that, lots of things are half or quarter sized - icons, scrollbars, frames. It would be really good to have this sorted out in the next release.

RE: Content on w-vga device?

I haven't found anyway to set it up to hi res mode unfortunately. Very annoying since NewsGator Go! looks so poor compared to Newsbreak. More annoying is that when scrolling, there are many rendering problems with blank lines appearing. You can get rid of them, but scrolling up and down again, but it's very frequent and making it annoying to use the product.

I'd like to use Go on a more permanent basis, but I think I'll have to go with Newsbreak if I can't find a way round this.

RE: Content on w-vga device?

I have a similar issue using a Dell Axim V51 in vga mode. The fonts look very big and un-aliased after I synced for the first time. Is this something that could be applied to the installation?

RE: Content on w-vga device?

hehe

fixed it :)

i just added the CEUX resource "HI_RES_AWARE" to the exe, using Visual Studio, and set it to 01 00... now Newsgator Go is wonderful on the hires screen :) :) :) :)

The only prob ive found is the icons are a little small in the treeview - i can live with that...

g
Content on w-vga device?

Hi,

Im a big fan of Newsgator Go (its likely my most used software on any platform except Firefox).

ive recently upgraded from a hermes to a toshiba g900, which has a very hires screen (800x480). I was pleased and suprised to discover that Newsgator works almost flawlessly with the new resolution, barring one issue.

When I actually look at the contents of posts, they are displayed in a HUGE font, so that there are no more words on screen than there were on the hermes. I can live with this, but I would be forever grateful if you could support smaller font sizes in the actual post viewer.

Im guessing you have embedded internet explorer into your app (i say that because the IE cache fills up during use!). Would it be possible to bring to the surface some of the font controls you get in IE? the version of IE with WM6 has the option 'use full resolution' (doh! thats a bit like the 'do you want to put DRM into your tracks' question you get when you rip music using media player - stupid question!)... anyway, if you enabled that, I would be very happy...

This is a constructive comment - i LOVE newsgator go - many thanks for such a great piece of software

regards

George
