Newgator toolbar not working in firefox or IE

I have installed the newsgator toolbar in both firefox and IE and nothing happens. When I click on search for feeds nothing happens, when I click on clip and it goes to open my folders I just get a empty box. I have double checked my login and it is definitely not that. I am getting no error message nor any indication that anything is happening when I click on search for feeds. Any help would be appreciated.

I understand Win 7 is beta. The toolbar however, works fine in Firefox 3, under Windows 7. I cannot get it to work in IE however.

I tried going to a page that is a list of feeds, but when I push the "Subscribe" button, it gives me a window that say7s it it searching for feeds, but doesn't stop. If I click directly on the RSS button, it goes into Newsgator Online.

Am I just jumping the gun? Should I just be happy it works in Firefox and wait for all the "updating" to the new IW to settle in?

Or am I doing something wrong here?

Toolbar option to install for Firefox greyed out

IE Toolbar installed, but not there

Hello,

I installed the IE toolbar on my Vista x64 machine with IE7. I go to add the toolbar and it's not there. I tried removing, redownloading, and re-installing with the same result.

I go to View | Toolbars and I see:

Menubar
Links
Yahoo Toolbar
Lock the Toolbar

Nothing else

NG Toolbar Script Error

On occasion, my CPU will max out and then this error appears:
"Script: chrome://ngtoolbar/content/ngfeedfinder.js:121".

I'm running Firefox 3.0.3.

What causes this?

Issues with toolbar in firefox

When i try to set a clippings folder or subscription folder, it doesnt show any folders.

Set Default Subscriber and Mozilla FireFox

I've used NG Toolbar for quite awhile now w/o this problem occurring, but recently everytime Mozilla FireFox launches I get the Set Default Subscriber dialog box (see attached) - no matter if I check the "Do not show this dialog again", it will show up. This also happens when Firefox tries to open another browser window. Has anyone else had this happen? - I think Firefox was updated to 2.0.0.11 when this started happening.

Newsgator Screensaver does not work in Dual Screen mode

I have an HP 6910p laptop running Windows XP. When I run the Screensaver using only the built in LCD display, the Newsgator Screensaver seems to work fine. When I turn on my external 22" LCD display set to extend my desktop, the screensaver partially runs. There is no text displayed for the RSS feeds. I get a black screen with the logo moving around on the laptop display, no text displayed at all. On the external display, I can see all my applications. The external display does not change when the screen saver "kicks in".

Anyone have any ideas?

Toolbar "aURI is null" Error with Firefox 3.02

Just downloaded and installed the most recent version of the Newgator Toolbar, and every time I open a new browser window, I get a:

aURI is null

error. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, rebooting, etc., but no joy.

Looked in the forum, and the only other thread:

with this error talks about the beta version of Firefox and that back in February Newsgator didn't officially support it because it was still beta. At least one other user posted to that thread saying they were also getting that error with the release version of Firefox 3. Anyone know if there is a resolution to this? I had to uninstall the toolbar and I'd really like to put it back (when it's fixed).

Hi all,

I've run the installer several times, including:
- Closing all apps first
- Downloading a fresh .NET 2 framework and reinstalling
- Assorted reboots

The toolbar installer reports no problems, but nothing shows in FF2 or IE6--I looked for both new toolbars under the View menu and new icons in the customize toolbar dialog.

Don't suppose there's a FF extension that I can use instead?

Unable to sync using Desktop Sync

I am using Vista Ultimate. I could Install NewsGator Desktop. However when I start application, it starts with wizard and second page, after I key in login information, it displays following message.

Could not connect to NewsGator Web Services: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.

I have allowed this application from firewall and even tried after disabling firewall. What could be wrong?

I just tried Newsgator and FeedDemon, and they are wonderful! I installed the screensaver program, but everytime I try to log in, I get the following error msg in the screenshot attached. I am using IE proxy settings. Can someone help, please?

I just installed the NewsGator toolbar for internet explorer 7.

Now could you tell me how to subscribe to a feed located in a webpages ?

And how to proceed when there are several of them in the same page please ?

Toolbar malfunction

Hi - I'm running NewsGator Toolbar in IE7 on a XP system. The bar installs OK, but none of the buttons seem to work. When I try the search i get -> Unknown error "-1". The Clip button doesn't do anything when clicked, and the RSS ADD FEED button is greyed out. None of the menuitems in the drop-down do anything except the ABOUT-option which renders the following error: Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue... etc.Please help? I use NewsGator online, the Outlook Inbox and FeedDemon with great success...

Toolbar with Firefox Portable

I'm running firefox portable off of a jumpdrive....

Has anyone had any success with installing the NewsGator toolbar with the portable version of
Firefox?

When starting Firefox, I'm receiving an error message, about files not found, however I do not know which files for the Toolbar need to go where.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Defaults to Newsgator Online Instead of FeedDemon

If I find a feed, often if I click it a box will appear with various readers shown, and often FeedDemon isn't one of the choices. And if I choose Newsgator Online, that is what I get, not FeedDemon, of course.

Is there a way besides cut / paste to use FD as the default (which is how the toolbar is set up) and not have to do it parch-work?

newsgator screensaver vista 64 help please!

Hi there-i cant seem to get the newsgator screensaver to work in Vista 64. Firstly it never showed up in the screen saver list,So i did a bit af research on the net,and moved the newsgator screensaver .scr file into my system32 folder which kinda worked-well it then showed up in the screensavers list anyhoo!

still wouldnt configure thou,so i copied over to the system32 folder the other files that were on my system for the screensaver proggy-this worked upto a point,it aloowed my to configure files,and pulled my feeds from newsgator online.But when i preview the Newsgator screensaver within the screensaver settings thingy on vista its juist got the orange ball bouncing around the screen but wont d/l the feeds as says its offline.

have checked the settings for the proxy and its been tried on the internet explorer settings and the no proxy settings-both have same result.

could someone please help me how to get this proggy working in vista 64 as im now completly confused!

We've had one report that the FireFox toolbar is not compatible with FireFox 3.0 Beta 3. Since FireFox 3 is still in beta, it's not officially supported so it may not work. When FF 3.0 moves to a release candidate, we'll start fully testing with it to make sure everything is working correctly.

when i fisrt got newsgator it had a tool bar at the bottom that was like my ie tool bar i hit something to romove it now i want it back can anyone help me? i have uninstalled it to try and retrive it back but no luck please help

My understanding of the problem is that the MSI (Microsoft Installer) engine (by default) verifies all the Personal paths in the registry, even if they’re not needed. For example, “My Music” and “My Pictures” are personal directories who’s existence would be verified but obviously aren’t needed. This turns into a real problem when you’re like me and have these non-essential directories re-located on an external or network drive. Basically, I can’t install or uninstall without my external drive plugged in.

What I don’t understand (based on those links and the several others I found using Google) is if the MSI engine will try and verify those paths regardless, or if it only does so by default and that it’s possible to only verify the necessary paths when configured properly?

Does anybody know if this is a bug, or if it’s the installer builder’s fault?

Vista + Toolbar = Make Default Prompt on Every Start

I'm running Vista w/ UAC disabled, the latest Firefox, and the latest Toolbar. Every time I start Firefox I'm prompted by the toolbar by to be the default. I've tried every combination of yes and the check boxes, yet I'm still prompted the next time I start Firefox. What do I need to change to fix this? It certainly seems that another app is "stealing" the association without prompting me. (I also have Outlook and FeedDemon installed.)

I just found the Newsgator Toolbar. Wish I'd known about it sooner! I've been using FeedDemon for a couple of years and have wanted this. One thing....

I wish it installed a "Customize Toolbar Icon" so I could add that to my toolbar and open or close the Newsgator Toolbar easily. It's just one more thing taking up too much real estate on my browser. As an example, RoboForm has an icon I can add to the toolbar so the Roboform Toolbar is normally closed but with one click it opens. I'd love that with this. Can I jury-rig it somehow?

newsgator screensaver hang

Hi--

Running XP Pro XP2 dualcore p2.4gig, 2gig ram with all current updates

Screensaver usually works great but sometimes it will not go off even when mouse moved/ keyboard clicked etc.

NG Inbox and Screen Saver

I am running Windows XP SP2 with Microsoft 2007.
When I install the NG Inbox Screen Saver, I get an error dialog when I click on settings.
I’ve uninstalled the screen saver and re-installed with the same effect. Maybe I should uninstall NG Inbox as well?
Attached is the error message as well as the NG Inbox about screen.
