Unfortunately I don't know the answers to these questions, and as you specify, they're important answers to know before you can proceed. I guess for now it's kind of a wait and see kind of thing.

I'll update the thread with a pointer to your response, but for now I would place this as a low priority as it seems that the experience of a lot of folks added to what you have already researched is enough to suggests theirs something else going on thats not part of the norm.

Doesn't look like the RSS feed contains the markup for that article, but OTOH, looking at NG Online the escaping for the Atom 1.0 feed seems to be correct, and looking at the feed produced by the API, that appears correct as well. Not sure where to start here. Does the user have the feed synchronized in FD, or is he polling direct? Without knowing what version of FD he's using, I can't even begin to address these questions.

I assume this is the place to post bugs as I can't seem to locate a bug db of any sort...

Update: It occured to me that this may not be a problem with Atom, and instead RSS 2.0. Please see my recent follow-up response for more detail.
