If you don't put a name in, it takes the default name of the feed. If you do type in a name, it overwrites the default feed name. I almost always rename my feeds at subscription time (maybe because lots of my feeds are craigslist searches).<br><br><br>What if you downloaded the start of the feed when the subscribe box is opened via a referral url to get the name, but don't actually subscribe until the button is clicked. Or just put "default" in the name box and use the downloaded name unless you override it. It makes things more complex. Many people are still new to RSS, and I want to make sure things are as easy as possible, so as not to scare them off.<br><br>2. The dialog should display the name that appears in the feed and give you the chance to change it -- but NetNewsWire hasn't downloaded the feed yet, so it doesn't know its name. It doesn't download the feed until after you click the Subscribe button. (What it could do then, after downloading, is to give you the chance to rename the feed.
