It would be a good idea to switch now rathe than later when .Mac sync goes away.

RE: Syncing with .mac - deleted entries not synced

Hello, I'm a new user of the software and really like it, as much as I'm also learning my way around. I apologize if I should have started a new thread for this question, but I've only been using the software a couple of days and just signed up to the forum.

Are you saying I should switch my sync preferences to use Newsgator instead? Currently, I'm using .Mac and have noticed that there are indeed sync issues between my work and home computers.

RE: Syncing with .mac - deleted entries not synced
Brent Simmons (9/9/2008)
The .mac syncing never worked that well, unfortunately.
I appreciate your candor. And the bugs can't be fixed without an entire rewrite. So, instead of spending time trying to make it work, I decided that my efforts were better spent on making NewsGator syncing the best it can be. (NewsGator syncing already works way better than .mac syncing works in NetNewsWire.) So: .mac syncing will be deprecated in 3.2 and will be removed in 4.0.

Syncing with .mac - deleted entries not synced

Hi there,

I use the sync feature with .mac. Unfortunately deleted RSS feeds get not synchronized between my two macs (MacBook, iMac). Both Macs are in sync. Then I delete a feed on my MacBook, sync and then I sync on my other Mac. I expected that the deleted feed will get deleted on the other mac too, but it isn't.

Bug or feature?

If it is a feature that this is not really a sync. BTW folder hierarchy (folded or unfolded) and read-state (read/unread) of articles do not sync either. I would expect that synching means to get two systems absolutely the same.

What do you think?

Thank you,
rainer
