FeedDemon 1.5/Feedstation 1.5

I'm subscribed to the Diggnation torrent feed:

http://revision3.com/diggnation/feed/small.mov.torrent.xml

It includes torrent files as enclosures. I can set uTorrent to watch the FeedStation download folder, so I can get automatic downloads of the video files (but not syncronization, of course).

Trouble is, when Feedstation downloads the torrent file, it's garbled. It has 15 bytes of binary garbage in front of the torrent file. And the last 15 bytes are missing.

When I download the torrent file directly, it looks find, and uTorrent successfully downloads the video.

Any idea what's going on?

By the way, the search feature for this forum doesn't work for me in Firefox 1.5. The Javascript under the Search link doesn't seem to do anything. There's no indication a pop-up was blocked.

I had to use Google to find this August discussion in the beta forum that mentions torrent enclosures:

I can reproduce this problem in 1.6 with that particular feed. Are you seeing it with any others? I don't use torrents at all, so I don't have anything else to test on.

Sorry, but this is the only feed I'm subscribed to that has torrent enclosures.

Glad you were able to reproduce the problem, at least.

I found a PBS feed which appears to be working correctly:
feed:http://www.pbs.org/cringely/nerdtv/rss/nerdtv-aac-torrent.xml

Can you give that a try and see if it works?

Please note that I am not actually employed by NewsGator, and my opinions should not be taken as their official stance on any matter. I'm just a happy FD user (since pre-1.0 alpha in 2003) helping out where I can.

The NerdTV feed worked for me.

So, we're thinking they're actually sending different data depending on the client? Any other ideas?

It looks like there is something about how the diggnation feed is GZipped. FeedStation handles GZipped enclosures just fine, but this one is throwing it off somehow. I've added a bug for it. (50718)
