My trial has expired and I'll decide whether or not to purchase feeddemon at some point in the near future. The machine I've used for my trial is leaving my control in the next few days and I'm wondering if there's anyway I can get my feeds exported from the current system (via OPML) so that when I decide to buy feeddemon I'll still have access to them, even though the existing machine on which I trial'ed the software will be gone. Thanks -dm

Actually all you need to do is copy the cache folder (for pre-1.6 versions it's C:\Documents and Settings\{Windows Username}\Local Settings\Application Data\Bradsoft.com\FeedDemon\1.0). Everything you need to recover your feeds and feed info is located there. No need to export anything

This is exactly the sort of advice I'm looking for...unfortunately, I don't see the files. Searched under dirs for all users and hidden files, as well and didn't see any file that included the token "Bradsoft" Any advice?

The above path is applicable if you're using Windows 2000 or XP - I don't know what the default path is for Win9x/ME if that's what you're using
Otherwise, If you don't see the "Local Settings" folder, then open up a Windows Explorer window (double-click on My Computer, for instance). Go to Tools->Folder Options. Click on the "View" tab. *Uncheck* the option "Hide protected Operating System files (Recommended)". Windows'll squawk at you, saying you shouldn't do that. Just click "Yes" then click OK. You should be able to see the Local Settings folder if you don't already.
If that's already set, you've looked under the Local Settings\Application Data folder, etc the next thing to do is do a Find (Search in XP) -> All Files and Folders and search for BlogThisApps.xml. When it's found, right click on it and left-click on Open Containing Folder. That should bring up the 1.0 folder. Go up one level and you should be in the FeedDemon folder, so you can just copy the entire 1.0 folder to somewhere safe.
Let us know if you still can't find it.
edit: just noticed this is post #500! Good grief!

not sure what I'm missing, but I've done what you requested and can't even find the xml file you mention by doing a search on the high leve directory (over all the users (ie: Admin, etc).
I'm on XP.
Thanks -dm

Open My Computer, under Tools->Folder Options->View tab, look two above the box we unchecked previously and make sure there's a dot next to "Show hidden files and folders" and click OK.
Once that's been done, make sure you're logged into the account you normally use FD on...
OK, you double-click(I'll use d-c from here on to save typing) on My Computer; then d-c on C: ; then d-c on Documents and Settings folder; then d-c on the folder w/the same name as the username you're logged onto, then d-c on Local Settings, then d-c on Application Data. In this folder you should see a Bradsoft.com folder. If you don't, then either a) you've gone and moved the cache location via File->Manage Cache menu item in FeedDemon or b) the data is already gone.

500 posts? you're a madman!
Please note that I am not actually employed by NewsGator, and my opinions should not be taken as their official stance on any matter. I'm just a happy FD user (since pre-1.0 alpha in 2003) helping out where I can.
