I took a look around, but couldn't find what seemed to be reasonably definitive answers to the following questions, so I thought I'd put them all together in a single post and hope someone could enlighten me:
1. How many feed items does FeedDemon store before deleting old items? Is there a limit? Is the limit per folder or system-wide?
2. If a limit exists, are flagged items ignored when deleting old items or deleted when their day arrives regardless of the flag setting?
Here's why I ask: I've recently started getting lazy about moving items to my news bin (which I understand is kept forever - is that correct?) and simply flagging them as I read them if I want to keep them. Now I'm wondering if I've lost any or will soon start losing any because they're considered old.
I'm not sure what made me question my assumption that a flag would prevent system deletion, but now that it's in my head I'd like to know for certain.
Thanks.

(don't remeber what the setting was in before 2.0, so this applies to 2.0) If you go to the properties of each feed or folder, on the Updating tab, there is an "auto-purge" setting. If the box is checked, then FD just keeps the number of items listed in the box. If it's unchecked, it doesn't purge at all.

| Thanks. I assume, then, that the purge happens regardless of whether a flag is set?

Flagged items are retained indefinitely and don't count against the auto-purge setting meaning you could actually have more than the auto-purge value (max posts + flagged posts).
