For the past couple of days, NNW has been constatly quitting unexpectedly. When run from the terminal, it quits with the error:
./src/btree.c:588: failed assertion `pPage->pParent==pParent' Abort trap
Any suggestions for fixes, or anything more information needed?

Can you please attach any crash logs that NNW generated: [your home folder]/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/NetNewsWire.crash.log

| There are no crash logs. The program just closes. It doesn't generate an OS X crash notification or report.

Hi, something similar it's happening to me: NNW crashes (without any usual report or window as other application does) a fraction of second after I start it (just the time to see the window opening in the background and it disappears) it closes without any feedback.
I've looked in the consolle (if it is there I've to look) and the only thing appearing is the line
./src/btree.c:1339: failed assertion `pCur->idx>=0 && pCur->idxpPage->nCell'
beetween a lot of
Looking for devices matching vendor ID=1193 and product ID=8717 Looking for devices matching vendor ID=1193 and product ID=8718
I've also tryaed installing again NNW from a new download.
Everything happened after I've upgraded to OS X 10.4.7 on a PPC iMac. All the rest is working properly.
Thanks

A particular one of NetNewsWire's databases has been corrupted. Here's what to do:
1. In the Finder, go to [your home folder]/Library/Application Support/NetNewsWire/
2. Put the file NewsItemStatus.db in the trash.
3. Launch NetNewsWire. All should be well.
It's possible that, right at first, you'll see read items come back as unread -- but probably not.
