Hi

Stupid question: I just purchased a license key for NNW2.1. For what updates am I entitled? For all within the 2.x line?

When you purchase a license for one of our desktop clients (NNW, Feeddemon, NewsGator Inbox and Mobile when released) it includes a year of NewsGator Online Premium Package which, in addition to the features listed on the product page, provides access to any updates that are released while your subscription is active. This includes point releases (such as 2.1 -> 2.2) and major releases (2.x -> 3.0).

At the end of the year, you have the option to renew your subscription. If you choose not to, you'll lose access to the features the subscription provides, as well as any updates that are released after that date. You will be able to continue to use the version of NNW that was available at the end of your subscription, but it will operate as a "stand-alone" reader without NewsGator synchronization.

Not really strange. You buy the client, then pay for maintenance (upgrades). Maintenance is optional and can be renewed beyond the expiration date to get new updates at that point. Seems pretty flexible to me (speaking for myself there).
