I just checked my feeds using FeedDemon on my PC, and everything there seems to be working just fine. I read (or marked as read) all of the new feeds and closed FeedDemon. I then started NewsGator Go on my BlackBerry 8100 (Cingular), and it is telling me that I have one (1) new item in each of my feeds. That is incorrect. When I click on any of the feeds, there is nothing to display (just a blank screen).

I just started NewsGator Go again, and this time I am told that there is one (1) new item in only two of my feeds. Again, however, there are no new items. I can confirm this by checking both my online account and through FeedDemon. Why is NewsGator Go on the BlackBerry 8100 (Cingular) telling me that there are unread items when there aren't?

Thanks for your help with this. This is a new installation on a new Pearl 8100. I am on day one of my thirty day trial. There are no other feed readers installed, and none have been installed prior to NewsGator Go.

Nothing? Great. I'm not too sure what message is being sent that other posts are being responded to by NewsGator but mine has been ignored... I've uninstalled this software until I know it is going to work properly.

I apologize for not responding to this sooner. I did not see it before I went home on Friday and we do not work on the weekends.

I am trying to replicate this problem on my end and I have created a ticket (Case 88298) so I can add any new findings. I will post a response here as soon as I have one.

If you would like you can send an email to support@newsgator.com for direct follow-up. Please reference (Case 88298) in the subject line.

Thanks for the update. I will keep an eye on this topic for an update. I'll also keep my fingers crossed that this will get sorted out.

Downloading now...

On a side note, everytime I try and reply in these Forums, I get a timeout error. If I refresh the page, everything works as expected and I can post a reply. Very annoying...

Nope. Didn't fix it. I had a few hundred unread messages, and when I read a few (and marked the remainder as read), NewsGator Go still insisted that I had one feed with one message to read. When I would go into that feed, there was nothing displayed except the feed title, a number "1" in the upper right corner, and briefly a number "1" in the lower right corner. Nothing I could do would force this erroneous unread message count to go away. The only thing that appears to have changed is that where before I would have multiple feeds that indicate that there is an unread message, now I only have one feed that shows a single unread message indication. An improvement, but not quite there just yet...

The odd thing is that when I closed NewsGator Go and reopened it, the feed that showed one unread message was different than before. Still, nothing I could do would make the indication of an unread message go away.

Now, the third time I open NewsGator Go, there is a lot of internet activity, with most of the activity coming from my BlackBerry to the net (as indicated by the arrows in the upper right of the screen), but nothing happens. The feed that is listed still shows one unread message with no actual content to view.

Additionally, why do some of the feeds show "50+" messages to read? Why not the actual number of messages to read, such as 55, or 62, or whatever the actual number is?

By the way, my feeds and messages are confirmed read by opening FeedDemon. Nothing new to read according to that program, but NewsGator Go insists that there is a single unread message.

I'll submit this feedback to the developer. I thank you for your patience.

Can you check in FeedDemon and see if the single unread article that you are seeing has an article title or not?

In addition, the 50+ designation was a design decision by NewsGator that indicates that you have more than 50 unread articles. It was done this way because the client only downloads a maximum of 50 at one time.

Also, what happens if you do a "Mark Read" on that feed in the Feeds view? Does that phantom unread article get marked as read?
