Good news! We've finally reproduced and fixed the bug - The fix is included in the latest NNW 3.1 beta.

Indeed, I'm happy to report that 3.1b24 fixes the "prevents automatic sleep" problem for me. Thanks!

Funny. After 6 months i didn't believe, that you'll ever fix this bug, so i kicked NNW form my harddisk a few days ago.
Good to know, that i can use NNW again. Google Reader does a good job, but NNW, FeedDemon and the Mobile NewsGator does it better!
thx

| This problem seems to be reoccurring in NNW 3.1.3. I'm running 10.5.2. Quitting NNW allows my PB G4 to go to sleep according to my settings in Energy Saver; leaving NNW running requires a manual sleep to be issued.

Is anyone else seeing this problem?? I'm specifically interested in if it is PPC only, or it also happens on Intel machines.

This problem has not returned for me.
It's was fixed for me as of 3.1b24 (as I mentioned above) and it has stayed fixed in all the NNW updates since then - thanks.
(Both my machines are Intel - an early model Mac Pro, and a recent model MacBook Pro.)

| Looks like this is PPC only then. Re-posting as 3.1.5b4 is still displaying behavior on my Powerbook G4.

I'm on a PPC (Powerbook G4) running Tiger and it's still keeping my laptop awake.
