This is a feature that we are pushing to the forefront for the next major release. We do not have an estimate for when this next release will be.
Our goal is to give the user two to three hours of offline reading time. We would also like to make this feature somewhat customizable for the individual user. This use case is helpful since everyone's traveling/commuting habits are likely different.

I have been trying to live with the the lack of offline fetching but it renders the Go! application almost useless to me. The point of a newsreader to me is to be able to read news in off-times. I am really disappointed and I feel like I just wasted $45USD. Can I get a refund ?

Can you please send a request to support@newsgator.com? I will need your username so that I can find your account. The reader itself is only $30 so you must have purchased it in a bundle with a desktop application.
Keep in mind that we are pushing hard for a better offline reading experience. This is a new product, less than a year old, and we aim to make it ideal for the daily commuter and business traveler. We apologize for not having all of these features in place at first launch, but hope to have that remedied in the near future.

Keith,
Last response to this request was on 9/25/2007. Anything new regarding this highly requested feature?
I'm currently evaluating NGG! and I'm glad I found out about the lack of global-update for offline use before I made my purchase.
I currently use Viigo (freeware) and they allow Update-All that pulls all my subscribed feeds whenever I want it to.
Getting 4-5 feeds is a nice workaround but probably won't satisfy international travelers (sadly I'm used to 8-11 hour flights...)
When Viigo does that it takes 5-15 seconds to update the entire feedbase (~25 on mine) with new content (their Update-All brings full content not just description).
I really wanted to switch to NGG! from Viigo as I like the NGG! interface/navigation better but unless I know it is coming very soon I'll have to hold off.
Anything new (even if beta) planned for December?
Thanks,
Ix

| Hi All, Just wanted to throw my two cents in for the love/need/want of offline access on the mobile. Ideally I wanted to be able to download the headlines to my phone, clip the ones I need while on the subway/plane etc. This would then sync with the online reader and my home NetNewsWire program so that when I get to work/home I'm ready to check the stuff that matters. Plllleeeeaaaase add this functionality. Cheers.

| I wanted to add my plug to this as well, this is something we need. I left NGG b/c of this feature but would be back in a heartbeat with an offline reader. One key aspect is space, as has been noted, please see if you can get an option to write all of NGG data to the external storage card (ie, microSD).

I hear you and I sincerely apologize for leaving this thread untouched for the past few months. You may be aware of the recent changes we have made on the consumer side where all of our consumer products are now free. As you can imagine this has left us very busy around here.
Unfortunately we will not be adding this feature in the near term, unless there is a demand from our Enterprise clients to do so. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Well, this officially sucks. I finally found a reader that integrates well with outlook and has ability to syncronize read status. However, without offline usage it is nearly useless.
Going back to Viigo for mobile.
*** shame.
