Toolbar searching with the "Selected Subscriptions" option doesn't work for Clippings folders. Actually, there doesn't seem to be any way to search [for] items in Clippings folders.

Thanks for the acknowledgment.
Just noticed another issue with clippings folders not acting like regular folders in a context where I'd expect them to:
News > Hide Read Items is disabled when clippings folders are selected. If it's enabled when a single cf is selected then read items are listed anyway, which is fine since cf's can't contain unread items. But if it's enabled when multiple cf's are selected then no items are listed (with the "Headlines - 0 news items - hiding read items" column displayed) and can't be toggled off to view the list; it has to be disabled (where possible) before any cf's are selected.
Interestingly, Hide Read Items is also disabled when the Flagged Items special subscription is selected but not when Latest News is selected. Not sure I understand why it ever needs to be disabled.
