I'm new to this so go easy on me. I've subscribed to several different job openings feeds on craigslist. Some of them show me the most current articles sorted by date as it appears on the actual web page. But certain feeds start at one month ago and go backwards from there. What am I doing wrong and/or how can I view the most recent listings in a feed? I've tried refreshing, sorting, unsubscribing/resubscribing etc., but vertain feeds still start at one month ago. Thanks in advance for any help.

Not a bad question at all, don't worry

Could you shoot us the FeedURLs of the feeds that aren't updating so we can take a look.

As a side note - we have had some problems recently with craigslist locking us out of their feeds. This means that CL feeds synced with NewsGator online haven't been updating. If you try deleting the feeds, and readding them without syncing them, do you get a different result?

It looks like maybe I was sorting them incorrectly (By arrival instead of date). But it still looks like the actual web page listings are posted way before they update in Newswire. Is there any way to receive them in sync with postings on the website or am I misunderstanding some key concept of RSS? Here's an example feed URL btw:

The main problem is going to be if you are the only subscriber to that particular feed. Feeds with a single subscriber are deprioritized, and not retrieved as often.

No matter what, you aren't going to be able to get thing "in sync with the postings on the website" because that would require the aggregator to be constantly saying "Got anything new yet? Got anything new yet? Go anything new yet" (picture kids in a car saying "are we there yet?") very soon the website does what a parent would do and bans you for hammering (a digital "Shut up")

You best option for high volume feeds, especially where you may be the only subscriber, is to add the feed to NetNewsWire unsynced. You can select this option when you add the feed. You can then set NNW to update it every 30 mins or so.

OK, I deleted all my craigslist feeds and re-added them unsynced, but the shortest increment of time I can see to refresh is x number of hours. Is updating different than refreshing? How can I set my feeds to update/refresh every 30 minutes?

You can set your Global refresh rate to be every 30 mins from Preferences > Downloading > Feeds

Yes, Refresh and Update are interchangeable terms.
