| We have some major changes included in NetNewsWire 3.1b21 including a new Combined View, Leopard changes and fixes, and a bunch of bug fixes. The new Combined View is designed for better readability and skim-ability. It also breaks lots of news items up into pages, so that performance doesn’t suffer when trying to load hundreds or thousands of items at once. Leopard changes include things like using the new folder icon in the subscriptions list and using the new dock badge standard. See nnwbeta.com for the download and more in-depth change notes. (Yes, NetNewsWire betas now have their own domain name. )

The new beta is great, however in combined view the contrast is too low on selected items. It is really difficult to see what news item is selected at a glance. A darker colour for selected items would be much better.
Also keeping with colours, why not use the system preference colour as the default. I like to use graphite in my system but NetNewsWire insists on blue.
The sidebar in Mail uses a double click to resize to the smallest readable width. It would be nice if NNW had a option to do the same thing.

Why isn't it available through self-update mechanism? When I do "check for updates" it still tells me that 3.1b18 is the latest version.

I second these requests.
Thanks in advance

Yes, the combined view does look nice and works well, but I would love to see the title bar for the selected item have a much brighter or obvious background. It gets a little confusing at the bottom of the list, I don't always realize which one is selected.

| Thanks for the feedback - I've created a feature request to have the contrast investigated (115670) If you have any other input, can I get you to create a new thread rather that replying to the pinned announcement.
