Tabs very slow to close in 3.1b21

I have several hundred tabs open (as I have had in previous versions) but now find that a Command W continues to show the current page until the next tab has loaded, rather than overtly closing a tab and loading a new one. This leads to confusion as to whether the command has taken unless one has a glance at the address bar showing the progress in loading the new page.

And mentioning tabs, what has become of the menu item that reports statistics on how many feeds, tabs, etc.? Nothing I clicked provided this data.

What OS are you using - this could help us replicate the problem.

The report you are looking for is Help > NetNewsWire Use Report.
