Hi guys...

Windows XP sp 2
1gb ram
1.7ghz Pentium M HP nw8000 Laptop

(yeah.. it's old... I have a request in for a new system :hehe

Lately TS has been pinning my CPU to the wall and I can't figure out why. No preview pane open. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling - same results.

When closing TS, it never closes properly (app closes but process continues to run) and I have to kill the process.

Ideas? Suggestions (beyond a new laptop...)?

What happens if you just open TS and leave it sit - don't open docs, etc. - does the CPU usage still go up?

A couple things to try:
- Closing other panels (file, clip library etc.)
- Disable the new version check (Options | General | Automatically check for new version). You'll need to restart for that change to take effect.

You're the best!

It was the new version check. I had a feeling that was the issue because I'm behind a proxy.

Turn it off and it's now behaving like a good little app should.

Thanks!

Don't thank me - I asked Nick about it. Thanks for the update - I'll make sure they get the word.
