is there a way to block duplicate news to be in clippings ?
for example, news is taken by 2 feeds and have been copied to the clippings. i want only one.

Do you mean clippings folders or watches?  I'm assuming you mean watches since they automatically collect items, whereas clippings are manual.

There isn't a way to prevent the same item from being picked up by more than one watch, although that may be something that should be added.

You can exclude one of the duplicate feeds from your Watches. Just right click on the feed's properties. Then check the box that says "Exclude this feed from all watches."

No, i'm talking about clippings.
Yes, it's manual adding but, if you have forgotten you add something before, it would be good to be able to have an option "warn me when adding duplicate item"

In that case, FeedDemon should already let you know when you try to add a duplicate to a clippings folder.  When you add a duplicate, the default "warning" beep will sound, and FeedDemon will display "Item already exists in this clippings folder" on its status bar.

duplicate is based on url ? something else ?

Duplication is determined by comparing:

  • the unique IDs in NewsGator's system if the posts are from a synchronized feed
  • the GUIDs if the posts have them
  • the links of the posts if they don't have either of the above two items

i have test on NNW and FD with the same item and it's ok.

but as there is more news feed which take each other news, it would be great to have a duplicate function, you can call on for clippings or folder.
sort could be based on
- url, url after redirect (see news.google.com, feedburner)
- title
- title + same domain
- blog article which is on front page and archive page
