Unfortunately we have been forced to remove the media player from the NewsGator Online reader. The company that had previously provided this player for us was acquired by another, and we no longer have the rights for this.
We are seeking alternatives. If anyone has any suggestions please let us know.

the media player is not essenial to me, as long as I can download the podcast (I would never stream it from newsgator website). But I have noticed that, instead of having a link pointing to the podcast (could be saved using right-click, then save as), there is now a "add to podcast" button. What does it do? I have done that on one of my entries, then it disappeared and I may have lost it. Fantastic! Thank you very much.
I am not against change, but this is the second time in 2-3 months that you implement changes without telling us anything about it. I complained about it when you made earlier changes to the way podcasts were handled without warning (that's when NG products had become suddenly free). I subscribe to newsgator RSS feeds to keep informed of changes (I can count 9 newsgator rss feeds in my "newsgator" folder), still not a trace of any warning. For a company that specialises in RSS feeds as a way to handle, process and disseminate information I find it quite surprising that you do not seem to be using your own feeds in an efficient fashion.!
Re podcasts, could you please bring back the link pointing to the podcast's url? I am not bothered about the disappearance of the player.
I am very happy with newsgator so please keep up the good work  , but also please could you communicate more effectively?

Please fix this soon... without even providing the link, podcasts rss feeds that only use the media attachment, rather than link the article to the audio file, become completely unusable. And including that link wouldn't exactly be hard.
And for your information... I don't necessarily want to add every podcast to my clippings/my podcasts - so don't think by enhancing that 'feature' to include the media link you will have fixed the issue. Make it simple, have a link to the media file in the rss feed.. after all, that's what every other rss reader does.

Looking at the dates of the last comments, does anyone actually look at this forum ? Or does it normally take 8 months to add a simple link to a web page to fix a critical bug (i.e. it is unusable as it is) in a NewsGator product ?
Is there somewhere else this should be posted ?

Your thoughts have not fallen upon deaf ears, so I've submitted a request to our development team to see what reasonable solutions we can provide for podcast feeds. At the very least I've requested that we provide the URL for each Podcast article so each user has the option to download the media file.
