We are currently looking at Newsgator Inbox as a potential product for our users. However, we are having a very serious problem involving internal feeds from Sharepoint servers. Everytime we try to access such a feed, we get an error saying that it is invalid. I can subscribe to the feed without having Newsgator verify it, enter my credentials (in case this is some authentication problem), and then try to update the feed. I continue to get errors.

Any advice on how to get this working? Are there any logging or tracing functions in the Newsgator software to help me determine what's happening?

Thanks for any help!

Tim

We're heavy users of SharePoint and I've tested against our own SharePoint installations without any problem. But we also write various webparts for sharepoint that may be cleaning up the feeds.

Can you send me the actual XML of the feed? Strip out anything that may be sensitive and email the file to beta@newsgator.com.

I'll take a look and see what's going on.

Actually, we've been able to get the latest release candidate to work against our internal RSS feeds. Thanks!!!!

One more question - Can you give me an estimate of timing for when you will be officially releasing version 3.0 of the product?

LOL. Ok. Thanks.

Another question - The problem we've had accessing our internal feeds has to do with the proxy configuration in Newsgator Outlook. We use an automated proxy configuration script, which, as your knowledge base indicates, is not supported.

Are there any plans to support such a configuration in the future?

My 2 cents contribution:

I currently use the Build 400 and I've been able to grab our internal sharepoints feed by passing my credentials (I actually use Windows login authentication for them), and everything works like a charm.

Hope this helps...
