I'm using a web account and also a stand alone account for trial purposes. I had noticed that once 20 new articles were in the web account, no new ones were added. I just verified this today by comparing my new articles added to my outlook account and the new ones to the web account. They are in synch (factoring in the one hour refresh for the online account) for all the feeds except the feeds that have over 20 on my outlook account. It doesn't seem to stop at 20 exactly, but it does seem to stop retrieving new stories once the new stories would have pushed it over the 20 mark.

Is this cap only on the trial version, or is there a similar limitation on the full subscription version?

If a particular feed only contains 20 items, that's the most the web edition will show at one time.  It doesn't (currently) buffer old content - once a post "falls off" the feed, it will no longer be displayed in the web edition.

Will this be changed at some point/  I was hoping to use this service as a way to make sure I got all news even when my laptop was not turned on and/or connected.

It's likely we'll change this behavior at some point - there's been a ton of requests for this.

I'd like to add this as a request also, this is the only thing keeping me from switching from bloglines.com

Well, then switch today!  We've been (not so) secretly squirreling away all content for some time now.  If you need to see something after you've marked it as read (which we for not-very-good historical reasons still call 'delete posts') then all you have to do is click the friendly Older Posts radio button!

Sorry to bring this post up again, but I'd like to know if it's planned to have something different in the future?

My favorite feed has 10 items. If I don't read my Online Account for 2 days (during the week-end for instance) and that the author blogs 15 articles, on Monday I'll only see 10 articles online on Newsgator (the feed's limit).
I agree that switching to "Older Posts" will show the hidden ones, but since I'm using FeedDemon I don't log to the Web Edition.
Because of this I'm missing a lot of articles...

Will you start to buffer old content?

Thanks a lot,
Franck

The current way it works we mark an item as current based off what is in the source feed.  So you getting the 10 max would be decision of the publisher.  However, we could always start displaying these items on our side maybe have feeds configurable so the user could define the limit but that goes against are current Current Post, Older Post concept.

Any further thoughts on this?
