Oh dear, did you just suggest something that's going to further reduce my screen real estate?! What with Facebook toolbar and Web Developer toolbar already competing for space 
Come on, I've gotta be able to do it using one of the .exes above..? I'm cautious about trial & error in case it fudges up things

Try the toolbar. Once you restart FireFox, it will ask if you want to make the toolbar the default feed handler for FireFox. After that, you can hide the actual toolbar.
None of the exe's in Inbox are designed to handle FireFox.
