Since the blogosphere is, after all, an echo chamber, there seems to be a lot of people talking about the same thing. Sometimes, I want to dig into a particular story, sometimes I want to skip it over.

Not sure exactly what the logic is behind the Popular Topics view, but this is an awesome report.... the only problem is that it only touches on the top 5 stories or whatever.

Is there a way to apply this view to every folder, including not just the most few most popular but all of them? (And when I'm viewing a particular folder, I'd like to be able to optionally restrict the view to feeds inside that folder).

Also, it would be very useful to be able to mark those stories read from that view.

(Note, I realize this seems to be a pretty expensive operation, so if it could set to be done in the background that would be good too...)

Glad to hear you like the "Popular Topics" report!

I'm afraid there isn't a way to show popular topics for a specific folder.  I toyed with the idea, but I didn't think it would be useful for the vast majority of customers since determining the most popular links requires a decent amount of feeds (and most people don't have folders with a ton of feeds in them).

When you click a topic in the report to read the entire article, it is marked read - but there's no visual indicator that this is happening.  I should probably change that
