FD allows a lot of customization for keyboard shortcuts.
there is one point which annoys me a lot when, i'm mobile / pure laptop without a mouse:
it's a bit hard to move between folder tree and items panel.
for example, with focus in the tree windows, "tab" get in items windows, but shift-tab doesn't return you in the previous situation)
next example, if you set shortcut for 'next news items' with expando style, when you call it, you move news by news with only one news on the panel, not the complete items panel focusing on a news and eventually expanding it with a shortcut like space. (you need to tabulate to the icon and do enter for expanding, next collapsing)
also, it seems there is conflict between behavior with tabulation and 'next news item' shortcut:
set the focus on a news folder with unread items, tabulate x times to focus on some news, do the shortcut for 'next news item' and it will expand the folder of the tree panel and move to the first feed of the folder ...
a shortcut, i think, lacks: 'add to clipping '
thanks

Shift tab does take focus back to the subscription list. Just hit the down and up arrows to begin navigating.
I'm not sure where the problem is in the second item you have mentioned. Can you please elaborate?
The third item you mention is by design. When focus is placed on a folder there is nothing displayed in the news item list. (Hit F11 to toggle between two and three-pane views.) Hitting the shortcut key to focus on the next news item does exactly what you describe because that is all it can do.
FeedDemon moves to the first feed in the folder you have highlighted and places focus on the first news item in that feed, whether it is marked read or not. From there you can navigate normally.
