I have built a facebook app using the facebook wizard and the it's not updating on the profile page.
The widget updates on the canvas page but not on any other pages.
It is on this page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/ajccom/13310147298?ref=s
its the ajc.com and accessatlanata feeds
thanks in advance for any help .

Cliff, I want to be sure I understand the issue fully...Are these the two apps you're talking about?
and is the problem that you have changed the look and feel such that they are numbered, like this:
but those changes only show up on the apps canvas page, and not in the profile page?

Thanks for the response.
No. That is not the issue
The issue is that the canvas page rss feed updates
the other pages and profile page widgets do not update.
I have been updating them manually, utilizing your trouble shooting tool.

Ok. Thanks for the clarification. I'll have to do some checking to tell if this problem is on Facebook's side or on our side. I do know that Facebook tends to serve up cached data for a long time (days) sometimes before pulling down new data. I'll let you know what we find.
I may need to get the FB API Keys for these applications from you, but I'll let you know if that is necessary.

It's sort of looking like Facebook changed something that's breaking our method of invalidating the widget application's cache so that they get fresh data. But I have not confirmed this. We still need to do some more investigation. In the meantime, it may be a good idea to continue updating via the troubleshooting tool periodically.

Okay, so we confirmed changes made on Facebook's side that was breaking our method of telling them when to dump their cached data and come get new data. We have made changes on our side to work with Facebook's changes. For widgets that have already been made into Facebook applications, those application should be updating again as normal. Cliff, the two AJC apps I pulled into my Facebook account are updating. "Braves Updates" looks the same on profile page and canvas page, and matches the latest content on the raw RSS feed. "AccessAtlanta" has the latest content showing up on the profile page, but it appears the canvas page is pointing to a different widget altogether (named "AJC.com Facebook Most Popular Stories"), just so you know. That's probably from an error made during the application creation process. You may want to walk through the wizard again for that widget and double check everything.

The AJC.com Facebook Most Popular Stories Facebook widget is still not regularly updating. I've gone through the wizard again and that didn't seem to make a difference.
Any ideas of what we could try next?
Thanks.

Check to see if it is updating now. I found a piece of missing data and added it in on our side of things. Hopefully that will take care of it. Let me know.
By the way, we are going to be making some more changes to make the updating and cache purging work better with recent changes on the Facebook side.

Thanks!
