I am a brand new user of NewsGator Go!, so maybe this is known to everyone.
But I have subscribed to some Yahoo! news feeds in which most but not all items have pictures. I verified that they are JPG files.
The messages with pictures have the little icon that I assume means podcast -- a little musical note symbol. And they aren't bolded when unread. And in the list of feeds these feeds have a little green NewsGator icon instead of the standard RSS logo for feeds that have no enclosed pictures.
I've looked in settings for anything relevant but haven't found anything.
Is there some way I can tell NewsGator Go! not to do this for JPGs? I know in NewsGator Inbox one can specify file extensions that are treated as podcasts, but I don't see anything like that in the web NewsGator or in NewsGator Go!

Hi Wilson,
As you assumed the various icon changes do mean that NewsGator Go thinks there are Enclosures with the feed you're talking about (and yes when it's in that mode titles are currently not bolded correctly thanks for reminding about that small quirk)
If you could post the URL of the feed(s) that are causing you a problem then someone from Newsgator could likely look at the XML of the feed to see if Yahoo are coding their feed correctly or not?
As far as I'm aware there is no current way to specify which file-types are highlighted as attachments in Go!, so it just depends on if the feed has any sort of file associated with the item in the RSS source code.
Alan.

The behavior is associated with a whole slew of feeds I got from the same page of links at Yahoo! They all behave identically.
Here is one:

Just because "Play" was enabled when one of these links was open I did click on "Play", but nothing happened.

The RSS shows what are called "media" extensions which can include mp3's as well as jpeg's - that's the case with the feed listed.
You're right, in Inbox I have a setting that allows you to change what Inbox considers podcasts. Go! does not, so there is no way to edit that at this time, but I'll add that as a feature request.
The other issue, let me just make sure I have this right - if an item is determined to have an attachment (podcast, jpeg, whatever) it is never bold even when unread. Is that right?

Hi Nick,
I can confirm that this is a behaviour I'd got used to in v2 Go! clients
Any item that has an attachment associated has:
Unread status:
Musical note icon instead of standard envelope
Title is displayed in black un-bolded text
Read status:
Title is displayed in grey un-bolded text
Icon can be musical note, Red cross if bad download, Green tick if app thinks download is successful (although this is just a status flag and doesn't check file is actually present on the device)
Items without an attachement use Black Bold text for unread status, so there is a discrepancy here.

| I installed that version and I report that the titles of unread items that have attachments are now bolded. Thanks!
