Hi all,
New to NetNewsWire with iPhone 3G and Macintosh 10.5.5, I have had no problem in the first initialization sequences : Choosed all my feeds arranged in subjects folders. First sync with iPhone app ran fine but after some news reading, iPhone app has made several dumps during articles reading... after an iPhone cold start to be sure to work in clean memory condition :

When I counted again my feeds, some unread ones and even their folder were no more present...

After desinstalling NNW iPhone app and reinstalling it, I must note that some manually unread positionned feeds and their folders present in Mac list do not appear into iPhone app after sync commands for the two devices...

New test this morning :
1- I de-install re-install NNW into iPhone 3G
2- I have 23 unread feeds into Gator servers synced NNW Macintosh app
3- After login my "new installed" NNW iPhone app, I find thes same 23 unread feeds... Cool !
4- Without opening any feed, I close and re-open iPhone NNW : Only 13 unread feeds are present, even after manual resyncs... Bad bad bad !
Precision : lost feeds are owned by several different web servers...

I have not found any workaround to retreive these iPhone lost feeds...

Thanks in advance for your help

Could the unread items be old? Like more than a couple weeks old? The iPhone version will delete older items.

I'd like to sync my feeds between my iPhone the NewsGator web interface. I really like NewsGator, but nothing works well.

The first thing which doesn't work it that I can't browse already read items in the web interface, because the "click here"-link after "To display older items..." is not clickable. If I open the WebEdPosts.aspx directly it works.

The 2nd thing is that I can't mark an item unread after reading it. I can do that in FeedDeamon and it syncs successfully after a few minutes which is a litle bit laggy but okay.

The 3rd thing is the NetNewsWire iPhone app. I have the same Problem as jangai.
1. Fresh install = works.
2. Closing it, opeing it = a few feeds disappeard.
3. Closing it, opeing it again = no feed displayed.
There might by some feed that are older, but also items from today which are unread in the web interface aren't displayed.

Cheers, Till
I love NewsGator so far : )

Without inspiration : I have done a new "de-install / re-install" sequence to my iPhone app.
Since two days, things seems almost right between Mac App and iPhone App with just a permanent difference of 10 items for always the same feed...

And, thank you well Brent : these 10 items are older than two weeks... I have to read them and all will be perfectly synced...

If I understand the problem, to see the two apps staying perfectly mirrored, we have just to fix the setting "keep items during 15 days" into Mac/Win application ?

Great thanks for your help...

You can change the time to keep items in the settings application.

Unfortunately it can't keep anything older than two weeks, because the sync platform only supports syncing the last 2 weeks worth of articles (up to a maximum of 200). See this article for more details.

Please note that I am not actually employed by NewsGator, and my opinions should not be taken as their official stance on any matter. I'm just a happy FD user (since pre-1.0 alpha in 2003) helping out where I can.
