I've created a widget using the feed:

But I can't seem to get thumbnails to display or any player to show.

I think you're going to need to find a better feed. We are not showing the player because that feed does not contain the video information inside of it. Usually the feed would need to have the video information embedded in the description or presented in tags. This feed has neither. Presumably this feed is suppose to link back to a pages where the videos can be played, but this particular feed also does not provide links.
Here's an example of a feed that has all the right elements to function properly in a video widget.
