Hi,
I just installed NewsGator Go on a BlackBerry World Edition phone. No feeds display on the mobile application even though all locations are selected for all feeds. I saw another post discussing a similar problem with no answers (I think it was a few months old). Are there any work-arounds for this yet? The post mentioned being able to see feeds after uninstalling/reinstalling so I'll try that but I'm hoping that this is addressed some time...
Also, I must say that this was by far one of the most difficult applications I have ever downloaded. Here is the chain of events:
* Browse newsgator.com website until eventually finding Newsgator Go. Website did not recognize mobile device or format the page accordingly so this was not easy itself.
* Try to download Newsgator Go. Account name required. I did remember my Newsgator account name so that wasn't a big deal. Unfortunately at this point all I received was a message telling me to check my email. Great. I didn't know what email address I used when signing up for Newsgator years ago.
* After trying three different email accounts (pain in the butt on a mobile device when the accounts aren't already linked into the device), I finally found the account which received the download link.
* Selected download link. Error 502 "The specified server is either incorrect or currently unable to handle the request due to temporary overload or maintenance. Please contact the site administrator." Try again. Same error. Try again. Same error. Try again. Same error. GAH. I tried the same thing on an XP PC. After this worked I tried again on the BlackBerry.
* The application downloaded. Great. Too bad I could only see folders not any actual feeds!
What a pain that was. Hopefully it's going to work after a reinstall.
* After uninstall/reinstall I'm back to the 502 error.
* Tried on desktop... Works. Oh, now it works on the Berry.
I can understand there may be maintenance on the site but the number of steps required to download this is ridiculous in my opinion, ESPECIALLY when I need to enter my NewsGator username and password AGAIN after downloading the thing!
Still doesn't work! &*$^*&!! Anyone have a clue what I can do to fix this?
