I have a Blackberry 8820 running os 4.5.0.153/Platform 2.7.0.105 with AT&T. I am using Newsgator Go! 2.2.7.
This error comes up every single time I load or update Newsgator Go! ("Update failed: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset"). The program is entirely unusable, which is a shame, as I absolutely rely on it for news on my phone and desktop. I really don't want to switch to something else.
I have tried battery pulls, uninstalling & re-installing, clearing the cache, and trying different connection settings. Nothing had worked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also having this issue and enjoy using this application for my blackberry curve, so I will start researching to see what is causing this.

| I'm getting the same error message on my Curve 8900. It just started happening this morning. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, but that didn't make a difference.

| I am also having the same problem but it started yesterday evening. Our IT department reported a nationwide Blackberry data service outage for several hours yesterday, I am not sure if this is the cause of the problem and still on-going.

I'm heartened to hear that other people are having this same issue; it suggests that its not a phone or software issue.
Thank you Frank for opening up a case for this problem.

I've been experiencing this exact same issue for some time, basically ever since I started using the program on my curve 8330 (sprint), but it would only crop up sporadically, and the program remained usable. Just in the past couple of days, though, the program does nothing but show this error, unable to update any of my feeds.

| Add me to the list of Go users that can no longer update feeds. Started just a few days ago, and Go has not updated since. What is going on, and why is no one from NG saying anything about it? Is this the future of this software...

I agree that this issue stinks, but in all fairness, a response was issued & a case opened w/in 3 hours of this thread's creation. That is fairly quick customer service and speaks well for the responsiveness of the corporation to complaints.
Let's give them time to continue to follow up.

| Fair enough, except that there was once, long ago, participation by NG in the subform for the BlackBerry version of GO. Now... not so much. I'm not impressed.

I have the exact same problem (BB Curve 8300), I can't get anything to download now for the last three days. Hopefully someone will fix it soon. Thanks.
Update: I can now download headlines but not the full article. I get the java.net.socketexception error right after the headlines load.
Update 2: Everything seems back to normal for me. Hopefully it will last. This is the first problem I've had in over 6 months of use, so thanks for making a nice app.
Update 3: Spoke too soon, it's intermittent, but better than the last few days with nada.
