I managed to export my clippings (only about 300) as follows:
In
C:\Documents and Settings\yourprofile\Local Settings\Application Data\FeedDemon\v1\Feeds
there are various *.rss files; near as I can tell, one for each feed from which articles were clipped; there's also a large file called "RootClipFolder.rss", which contains all clippings.
I uploaded that file to my web space and added a feed (in FeedReader) pointing to that address. FeedReader added a NewsBin containing all my clippings which I then transferred to my archive folder.
I really liked FeedDemon, but I won't be using the new version synchronizing with GoogleReader, as I don't like giving Google any personal data.
HTH,
Elli

| I'm using NetNewsWire and have the same issue. When I copy the URL mentioned in this thread to Google News it claims it can't find it. Putting it as a new subscription in NNW crashes the program...HELP!

Me tooooooo! I have more than 4,500 clippings. There's no way I'll be able to back them up manually by the end of the month. The RSS feed only shows the last 20. Pretty please give us an easy way to export our clippings!
Thaaaaaank yoooouuu!

There are discussions internally on how we can make clippings available for exporting, so when I hear more I will keep you all posted.
I appreciate your patience as we determine the best and most efficient solution for this situation.

UPDATE as of 8/10/2009
You can actually turn your already clipped articles into an RSS feed and subscribe to it via Google Reader or any other RSS/Atom aggregator.
In order to do this follow these steps:
- Sign into the Online Reader and locate the "Clippings" Folder from the list of folders on the left
- Select the Clipping Folder
- Scroll to the very bottom of your clipped articles and find the option to expose your clippings (See attachment)
- Check the box to share your clippings
- Copy the URL provided and subscribe to it via Google Reader or the application you plan on using to read aggregated feeds
- You will need to add '&limit=any number' in order to get all the clippings to display (e.g. http://services.newsgator.com/ngws/svc/ClippingsRSS.aspx?uid=1234&limit=50000)
Side Note: if you have nested folders and want to keep your clippings organized you will need to do steps 2-6 for each.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: keep in mind you will have to manually move these articles AKA clippings to shared items, star the article, tag them or whatever feature is available with your chosen RSS reader because after the 31st the clipping feeds will no longer be available, thus the URL used to turn clippings into a feed will NO longer be accessible.

| Thanks, FrankB. Can you clarify: are you saying that the public URL (http://services.newsgator.com/ngws/svc/ClippingsRSS.aspx?uid=1234&limit=50000 in your example above) WILL indeed go away after 8/31? Or are you saying that the ability to make a private Clipping folder public will disappear after 8/31? If the former... how long do you anticipate keeping those URLs live? If the latter, then if I have 400 items in my Clippings folders, than it looks like I have to perform... 400 manual operations? Can you suggest a semi-automated approach for doing this in Google Reader? Thanks.

Hi FrankB,
I've tried your method to add my 2000+ clippings, but Google Reader can't add it. What I think might be happening is that Google Reader times out before finding/loading the feed. I can get it to work with &limit=200, but anything above that fails. I can get &limit=2068 to load in firefox directly (it takes a couple minutes, but works), but then loading it into Google Reader through firefox also hangs.
Do you have other ideas? Do you think it could be a lag issue on Newsgator's side, or a problem that Google Reader isn't waiting enough time before failure?
Thanks
