| Now that NewsGator Online is migrating over to Google Reader, does anyone have any suggestions of alternatives ? I'll start with http://www.bloglines.com - it seems to do a fairly similar job ! Any others ?

| I used Tiny Tiny RSS (http://tt-rss.org) before moving to newsgator due to the fact that there is no offline client for it. Otherwise, it's great. If you only count the web-based reader, I think it is even better than newsgator online. From the official website: "Tiny Tiny RSS is a web-based news feed (RSS/Atom) aggregator, designed to allow you to read news from any location, while feeling as close to a real desktop application as possible." You can install it to your personal server, but if you really can't, the author also have one set up for public, but really limited in number of users it can handle (New user registrations are currently closed at the time of writing). So if you can, please do it on your own server. I'm going to go back there as well. I'm still so mad with newsgator that I don't know what to say.

Hi all,
I'm subscribed to NewsGator since months now.
I regularly read my feed on the web but the newsgator feature I will really miss is the "NewsGator Email Edition".
As I'm also a big e-mail fan it had with this the best of both world, my rss feeds in my regular inbox.
As newsgator will close and as Google reader does not offer this feature, do you know an alternative with this service ?
I was previously subscribed to the RSSFWD service, but I just went to it and sadly saw it closed several months ago ...
So I'm desperately looking for this functionality elsewhere !
Regards,

I haven't been able to find a reader that has all of the following:
1) Nested folders
2) a combined view that can be grouped by feed and sorted by date from oldest to newest
Google reader, for instance, has no nested folders, doesn't even have folder rename, and the all (unread) items view can't be grouped by feed. It's Google reader that should be discontinued in favor of Newsgator.

| @clauderenaud: I believe there are many software/service/program that can forward rss to your email. I don't like to have that in my inbox, so I can't recall any on the top of my head. You should have no problem find one that fit your needs, I believe. @ecpzaeacbuo: Completely agree here. I know a lot of people like the fact that now FeedDemon/etc. can sync with Google Reader, but they should not support this decision to drop Newsgator Online. Having two options does not hurt them. If the situation is reverse, ie. Google Reader sync was dropped in favor of Newsgator, I would even help them complain about that, even if I don't use Google Reader at all. I tried bloglines yesterday and found out that they have problem with quite a lot of sites. However, there are some applications that can sync with bloglines. Greatnews! is one of them
