Is the Newsgator iPhone app staying or going?
Is the Newsgator Online iPhone Safari page staying or going?

I could write at least 10 questions that I'm still trying to figure out, 3 days after reading the lenghthy e-mail sent to Newsgator users.

NetNewsWire for both the iPhone and Mac is staying
FeedDemon is staying

ANYTHING related to the consumer version of Newsgator Online - including any and all mobile interfaces - is going away.

Thanks. I did figure all that out eventually, but no thanks to Newsgator's "explanatory" e-mail.

Which arguably means that none of it has really been confirmed by Newsgator. At least not legibly!

Oh for the days when young people could write e-mails properly!

Look at the Newsgator Daily blog post by JB Holston President and CEO of NewGator - can't get much more "official" than that

There's much more detail in the FAQ. You can read that here http://www.newsgator.com/productinfo/consumerinfo.aspx

Hmmm, read the above linked FAQ and am still confused. Sent the following off in reply to their recent "info" email and got a standard "reply" to check forum so am posting it here...

Howdy:

Hmmm, in spite of your best efforts, this process is confusing and not working very well.

First, it's confusing because no mention has been made how my iPhone app. ( NetNewsWire ) will interact w/ the Google Reader to get my feeds.

You mention you'll continue to support NNW, but if I'm still getting my feeds from you and not Reader, what's to keep them in sync?

Clearing that up would be helpful.

Second, your conversion process to get my feed list from NewsGator Online to Reader doesn't seem to be working on my Safari ( 4.0.3 ). Clicking on the OMPL link provided by you brings up a blank page ( which incidentally, supplants the instruction page ).

Trying to "save as..." only allows either a .webarchive or .xml choice and appends that extension even if one doesn't want it.

Experimentation shows that selecting .webarchive, then deleting that part in the Finder, then doing an import results in a "Your OPML file could not be imported. Please make sure that it is correctly formatted and try again." error.

Selecting the .xml option, then deleting that part in the Finder does result in a successful import, but that should be made clearer in your instructions.

Thanks for your time and help in these matters.
==========

Seems like things could be a bit clearer.
