I found an extension ngsubscriber.xpi and opened it and it shows installed but even after a reboot I don't see the icon like I do in Internet Explorer.

Right click does nothing either.

Here are the instructions to installing ngsubscriber 0.2.  Did you install via these steps?  If not, please do so and let me know if it works.

1) open Firefox - go to http://stuandgravy.typepad.com/blog/2004/03/newsgator_right.html - go to the section “NewsGator right-click-subscribe for Firefox”- right-click “here” link and select ‘Save Link As’

2) once the ngsubscriber.xpi is saved/downloaded, open it in Firefox (File – Open File – select ngsubscribef.xpi)

3) when the Software Installation popup appears, click [Install Now]

4) an Extensions popup will appear with ‘ngsubscriber 0.2’ showing that the extension has been installed, simply close this window

NOTE: you must restart Firefox before this will take effect.

Ok I did this again but this time with Tinyfirewall off. It seems to be a problem the way it locks the registry. Anyway I can right click but I do not get the discover feed icon I get in internet explorer.

The discover feed icon in the toolbar is not yet supported for Firefox.  However, you can download the bookmarklet for Firefox found here.

Darn forums.  So, the search actually does work on Firefox...you just can't tell because the popup search box shows up at the bottom of the screen.  So click search, then scroll down to the bottom, and you'll be able to search.

Don't worry, we know we need to fix this!

Thanks Greg

Yeah I knew that but it was not working. A fresh installed Windows and Firefox and it did not show up. It does not make sense but I disabled popup’s and it now appears. This is not the only forum with the issue or the only website. I have switched from Firefox and IE several times now. There are still quite a few sites that do not appear or function correctly with Firefox. Tabbed browsing is the main drawcard as for feeds or any site that matter you just hold down the CTRL key and click on the links and load up a dozen pages in tabs which works well with Newsgator online.

Off topic.

IE will loose focus if you open more than one link. I tried Maxathon but I found compatibility issues with a few sites and it is way overkill in functions. Firefox seems easier to manage from shortcuts. Anyone know of tabbed browsing ad inn for IE to give simular easy tabbed browsing where you don't loose focus of the current page? Even opening new windows and have those not take over focus would be an improvement. I know IE 7 will have it but it will take a long time or be full of bugs as usual for the first year ;-) There is nothing like CTRL and click links to load in the background, CTL W to close the tab and other very fast shortcuts. I am a keyboard person not into lots of buttons. The above would help me stay with IE and many of the toolbars for furl and Newsgator work in IE but not in Firefox. I am just guessing but I think it will take a long time for Firefox to render all websites correctly and to accept toolbars etc. IE is always worked on first it seems.

Hi NewsGator folks! May I remind you to fix those little CSS errors in http://www.newsgator.com/forum/skins/Classic/style.css ? It can't take 3 months, even if a company's busy with new products... Just run the CSS through the CSS validator and follow it's instructions. With Nick you have someone aboard who obviously knows his way around CSS.
